View Full Version : PVSP A yard
NancyP 10-27-2005, 09:19 PM Has any one heard that A yard or A1 in specific is on lockdown? I was supposed to get phone calls this week and haven't received them. The only reason would be if they are on lock down or have no programs for some reason. Does anyone know anything?
qwerty 10-28-2005, 10:49 AM I got a call from A yard day before yesterday and they were not on lockdown...
lovesprisoner 10-28-2005, 01:24 PM Well I know that on Monday this week they had no program due to staff shortages because there was a funeral of a c/o that just passed from PVSP, on Tuesday they had training, Wednesday I recvd a call, Thursday i recvd a call, and today they have training again. When they have training they usually have no program. My husband is not in A-1 so it could differ from building whether they are locked down all day! Hope this helps a little.
NancyP 10-28-2005, 10:53 PM Thanks so much. I got a call today. There has been no programming a lot lately there. I am getting a long report on the current scene. If you are interested when I get it, let me know off line.
Thanks for the help. A1 in fact did not have programming on Tuesday and Wednesday as I thought. Not official lockdown, but simply not out of their cells and no programming at all. This is what concerned me.
I'd like to have someone with a loved one in PVSP to talk to sometimes. My man there is new there, recently transferred from Mule Creek.
I'll keep this off of lockdown forum for now, as it isn't an "official lockdown" they just aren't letting them out.
Thanks!
ladynblack 10-31-2005, 12:34 PM Hi Nancy:
I just like to tell you that I do have a love one (little brother) at PVSP. He is located on building A. My last visit with my brother was in September of this year. At this time the fog gets really bad that we are not able to visit until February or March. I do write and send him $50.00 a month. I have heard some terrible stories regarding other prisons but as far as my family and myself our exeperience in visit has been pleasant. My brother has 17 years more to go. I only hope he does most of his time at PVSP.
I wish you and your husband the best of luck .
Take care and if you like to chat I'm just a keyboard away.
sandersen 10-31-2005, 12:50 PM I know at PVSP they have been on lockdown A LOT because they are short staffed. My husband has had a hard time calling because of that. It could also be because of MCI- you may have a block on your phone?

qwerty 11-01-2005, 12:38 AM FYI to all, I visited this past weekend, A is fine... and they better STAY that way because I FINALLY got an appointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imma be mad if anyone acts up!!
I'm in shock LOL!!!!!!!! :):):)
funnyface09 11-05-2005, 01:07 PM Just a heads up ladies. My husband is in ad-seg and he overheard the CO's talking about being ordered to take time off, alot of time off, so they can claim shortages for the election. Don't know if it will affect visiting, or phone calls or not. It was in his letter dated the 31st.

lovesprisoner 11-17-2005, 12:30 PM A yard is on lockdown again...I called the recording today and as of yesterday no visiting for this weekend...it could change until Saturday! Does anyone know why??
NancyP 11-17-2005, 09:30 PM I heard that they found something on A yard - they assume a weapon of some kind. My man overheard a worker there stating this. He figures maybe a CO planted it to justify overtime or hazard pay but who knows the real story. and have been in lockdown on A yard since Sunday afternoon. I called the line and it said that A yard is on lockdown. I knew they were as I'm not getting calls. I called the counselor and they said it was full lockdown, not modified lock down so no visits:mad: . I had a visit scheduled for the weekend. Any suggestions girls on whether I should risk a trip or not. My man told me they still have visits, but The Counselor told me for sure no visits this weekend, and she doesn't know how long. I'll call again tomorrow and hopefully will get a letter tomorrow with more information. Mail seems real slow as well- I usually get a couple a day, and I'm not getting these. Any idea on what is up other than this.
Perhaps if we all share we can piece together the real scene there. Any advice on whether I should risk a 200 mile drive for a real possibility of no visit.
luckyme1526 11-17-2005, 11:07 PM Hi there,
I really don't know what to tell you, I'm really sorry that you have this dilemma, I wish I could be more helpful! I heard a rumor saying that they could go on total lockdown for this weekend (all yards) and that they will be making their decision tomorrow, I'm going from over 300 miles away and I'm still going, but then again d yard isn't on lockdown (as of now) so good luck!
lovesprisoner 11-18-2005, 09:12 AM Yeah I heard that they got wind of inmates planning an attack on staff so they locked them down pending investigation. I'm still going to go if they are on lockdown today because in the past they have had escorted visits. Also they are known for saying the yard is on lockdown with no visits on Friday and then Saturday morning it clears for visits. As for the mail...well mine has seemed to be backed up for the past few weeks. Well today they will be updating the recording...keep your fingers crossed!!
NancyP 11-18-2005, 09:40 AM Thanks girls. I think I'll go up anyway. My man said they can have visits even if they are on lock down. I guess I should at least try and abide by his wishes here. Let's check the message today, and I think I will take my chances. I really needed some advice on this one and I appreciate it.
If any of us hears anything else please post. OK?
qwerty 11-18-2005, 11:05 AM Usually (but not always) when they say no visits they mean it. But very often it changes by Saturday morning.
A few weeks ago I was glad I forgot to check the announcement, because we got in even though the message said no visits.
So I guess it's worth a trip as long as you're prepared for the worst.
My guy wrote to me on Sunday evening and didn't mention it, I got the letter yesterday. AT least I am glad it wasn't a fight and he wasn't in it!
lovesprisoner 11-18-2005, 11:39 AM Well I just heard thru the prison wives grapevine ;) that A yard will be having escorted visits this weekend. I don't know how credible this info is but it's said to be confirmed by the Capt. of A yard. So ladies get your weekend bags packed and have a wonderful visit!! :D The recording hasn't been updated yet...
NancyP 11-18-2005, 06:50 PM Thanks for your help girls. I'm getting loaded into my car now. They did update it on the phone line, so as of now, th ey get escorted visits. They are still on lock down, of course. But at least they handled this. Thanks again girls.
