I'm Doing A Paper On Re-entry Programs And Just Wondering What Are Some Of The Positive And Negitive About These Kind Of Programs?

Missouri is currently piloting a Federal reentry program which tries to remove common roadblocks that offenders run into upon release. It helps them get their proper ID credentials as well as give them courses in creating resumes, money managment, and relationship building. I am currently employed in the Reentry process Transitional Housing Unit so I speak from experience.

One of the hardwst things I have found since getting out in May of '04 is finding a decent job. I have my "CDL". But it is just too dang hard to find a company that will take you....I know when I was in alot of offenders were talking about the open road and such....I wish more companies would say yes, and would be nice if there was some kind of re-entry program for that. The re-entry program I went though was reall good @ CIF Pendleton,Indiana. Mrs.Brown was very good @ what she did.
They give you a start on resumes,Driver Lic,health care and housing...I wish you all the best on finding as good as program as she gave.
