My favorite cousin Jaqwayne is currently serving a 14 year term in CSP-Sacramento. He's been down for 8 years, with only 6 more to go and today my mother and me called the prison to let the chaplin know that my cousin's mother had passed away. The Chaplin then went and talked to my cousin, allowing him to one emergency phone call to my mother and me. That phone call was the hardest for me. To hear him cry and say that he was mad at himself for being in there and not being to attend the funeral, was so hard for me. His father was murdered when he was only 7 years old and now his mother, how do you make a person feel loved when they feel so alone? Anyone out there please help me stay strong for my cousin. we are as close as sister and brothers. Does anyone know about how i find out how to get a power of attorney paper on file in case something happens to my cousin while locked inside?

My sympathy is with your family. The best thing you can do is stay in touch with him and let him know he is loved. As for power of attorney, you probably need a lawyer, but I'm not sure.

I have power of attorney over my husband. He has to assign it too you. You dont need a lawyer to get it .. My husband filled out the paper he got right at his unit and he got it notarized up there also ..

Welcome to the Extended Family forum. All he needs is to have a notary at the prison see him sign it and send it to you. I have POA for my nephew and that's all Ohio needs.
