hello all, this site is the greatest,I am 27 and probably will have to go to the feds for 17 month sentence maybe? I have never been in prison before and I will probably go to a camp, I have no violence on my record and a drug charge. My mother is disabled and I am most worried about getting a job when I get out, I am wanting to be a mechanic, I dont know if I will get the chance to go to school now, as I have lost almost everything I have, my girl, savings, freedom, you name it. I guess I just wondered if anyone had any advice, I havent been sentenced yet and dont know where I will be assigned. I am in texas, austin oh yea hello all!

Theres always alot to worry about even before you get in, but hopefully things will work themselves out. At least you have an idea of what you want to do when you get out, theres never enough mechanics. Research it before you go in, Im sure you will be able to get training when you get out. Hope that helps some.

i once felt the same way "what will i do when i get out?" i have been out a little over 2 years and have a great job. Don't worry about it you'll get a job if you have a work ethic. Connect with the good people inside i got my job keeping in touch with people - you can meet educated successful people inside...
