MY BABY IS AT FCI LA TUNA IN NEW MEXICO

my son is in torrance county right now which is in estancia,nm outside of albuquerque. How is FCI in La Tuna? My son my be sent there. This is the one in Anthony Texas right?

My husband is still in county waiting to be transferred to Los Lunas. Does anyone know anything about the ins and outs of Los Lunas?

My guy is going to be sentenced tomorrow and then will be moved to Los Lunas for evaluation. I don't know much about Los Lunas.

My guy and I are back together again. I feel good about it. I just went through a thing where I worried about our age difference, and the time he has to do, but we missed each other.

I don't know where he's being moved after evaluation. I'll let you know.

My husband is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I sure hope it is a vast improvement over BCDC! He has not gone to trial yet.

We're 1550 miles apart.

My guy is in Hobbs, NM. He's been there since December.

Just an update to say my boyfriend got moved to Los Lunas which is only an hour from me! I am so happy about that!

U can write me at (e-mail address removed per PTO policy - member may be contacted via Private Messaging on PTO) my son (who is in his twenties) will not be there too much longer I have heard if he goes to court in two weeks as planned. Yet, he will be sent someplace else but I do not know where just yet. My son is a victim of Unnecessary Force Used by Law Enforcement. If anyone knows who I can write please let me know. Eyyaa: I don't have a loved one out there but I do have a few friends who have been sentenced to do their time out there since we are all from Hobbs. My friends tell me this place is a prison but not as bad as some of the others they've seen in New Mexico...if that eases your mind a bit. I've been out there a few times to see them so be sure to fill out your paperwork correctly so they don't postpone your visits (experience talking there). If I can help you in anyway let me know. samantha

I met a man at church who had done time for a gun crime and had been in max security at Santa Fe as well as Hobbs, and he told me that of all the places he did time, Hobbs was the best as far as programs, opportunities, etc goes, and since they tend to place you with others of similar crimes, (gangs with gangs, gun crimes with gun crimes, sex offenses with sex offenses, drugs with drugs, etc. there is less chance of being hassled by fellow inmates.

Santa Rosa is not so bad. The food is better there, the COs all seem nice and courteous. Visiting hours are normally two hours on weekends, but if you go during the week, they are slow enough that if you get there first thing in the morning, you can spend the entire time with him-8:30a-3:30p. The guys may hassle him for his charges, asking to see his papers, etc. but he may get that wherever he goes. There are some good programs he can apply for-anger management, Kairos, computer classes, horticulture classes, etc. Just came back from a visit there today, in fact!

My husband just got transferred to Clayton, NM from Las Cruces. Does anyone have any one there or any experience with this prison? I live in Missouri and it is great becasue he is now 400 miles closer to me than he was. hopefully I can go visit soon.

My man Benny is in the Otero County Prison in Chaparral,New Mexico.
It is a private prison that houses males & females.
The males are on a seperate floor,but it's a prison that takes both males
as well as females so any gender could be there in case anyone wonders
if a female loved one might be there,ect.....?

they have buildings 1 & 2 & also a department where they process those
from Mexico & other imigrants.It's called the Processing center & located
close to the prison. The prison is next door.

It is privately ran by the management & Training Corp,along with the County

Is Otero County prison a state or federal prison? This may be a dumb question, but I just found out a friend of mine is there. I am trying to get info. I think he is being turned over to the attorney generals ( what ever that means. Any info will help, thanks, btid2007

Otero County prison is contracted with the U.S. Marshals Service. It differs though from the Otero County processing center, which contracts, primarily, with Immigrations & Customs Enforcement...as well as Otero County.
It's neither federal nor state, insofar as the prisoners are concerned, although other prisons/jails may contract with them for services.

There are a lot of us with loved ones in Santa Fe! I would like to get to know some of you as well!

My son-in-law is serving a 24 year sentence (2 years and four months into his sentence so far) and is currently at NENMDF in Clayton. I am in Georgia, far from NM, so unable to visit him, although I'm saving little by little for the bus fare to NM as well as enough for motel expenses. I haven't seen my s-i-l since the day I left NM at the end of September of 2005, and last talked to him over the phone on the evening before the altercation that led to his arrest and incarceration. He and I exchange letters and cards, which does help to bridge the gap, but to be able to visit him even briefly would be wonderful.

My daughter began a new life with another young man shortly after my s-i-l's arrest (they recently had a baby together, first grandchild for my husband and me) but I still consider my s-i-l very much a part of my family. I know my daughter and her boyfriend aren't happy that I remain in contact with him, but he's always been more a son to me than an in-law. He has no one else now that my daughter has moved on. I can't, nor will I, abandon him.

I'd love to be in touch with others who have loved ones at the same facility. Please feel free to PM me.

My husband just got sent to Los Lunas. He's in what they call RDC, which is where they classify them and then from there after the classification, they will send him wherever his level is. Like, if it's a level one or two, they'll send him to that type of facility. What is he in there for?

I am in Roswell. My husband is in Los Lunas. I don't have a car and it totally sucks. If anyone has any ideas about getting to Los Lunas, please let me know.
