View Full Version : Drugs are Easier to Get on the Inside PrettyWittyHila 10-18-2005, 07:15 AM Where do you think drugs are easier to obtain? JaysgirlSS 10-27-2005, 12:58 PM Hard to say. But it does surprise me that I have talked to a few people who have served time and told me that if they'd wanted to it would have been fairly easy to purchase drugs in prison. My boyfriend is an camp. There are no walls, very low staff to inmate ratio so of course it's easy for prisoners to get away with things. witchlinblue 10-27-2005, 10:20 PM Well I have a hard time answering that question and didnt because I cant answer either of them. I dont think the system is exactly crooked, not all staff want to be drug dealers and Im sure most of them dont. I think drugs are easy to find absolutely anywhere, inside or out. seansgram 10-28-2005, 12:23 AM There are so many CO's that have been arrested for bring in the drugs and other workers in the prisons. The drugs are in there, you can get whatever you want. How to stop this, I have no idea but it is so easy inside to get drugs. witchlinblue 10-28-2005, 01:07 AM well they use sniffer dogs in the cells, how about talking them dogs for a walk down the lockers of the CO's. That cant take too much out of their budget. MrsPhil 10-28-2005, 04:02 AM They may be a little more expensive inside but they sure are just as easy to get whether it be the guards or the visitors bringing them in. How do they expect these men or women to be rehibilitated if they make it so easy for them to get this stuff?? Lillybee 10-28-2005, 05:37 PM I have seen many newspaper articles regarding CO's being caught smuggling drugs into prisons. I wonder how many get away with it? barbie16118 10-28-2005, 09:01 PM rikers island is considered the biggest drug store in new york. the drugs are sold buy most co's. upstate is a little harder to get but most co's just let it go. rick 12-02-2005, 02:38 PM COs in Ca petitoned to be notified when the dogs are going to be ran through. Why would they be concerned about drug sniffing dogs?I watched a CO as he was coming through their side to go to work. The man had a large satchel which he opened for another to inspect. The other guy took about 3 seconds and sent him inside. Very thorough. Zapatista 12-03-2005, 09:45 PM One C/O per month is arrested in California for bringing in drugs. One per month! witchlinblue 12-03-2005, 10:30 PM Glad you posted that because I dont understand why they arent using the dogs to randomly check CO's lockers etc. Do they really think that that many drugs are getting in threw the mail and visitors ? They cant be that stupid, they must know its mostly from staff. Im not saying all staff are in on this stuff but from what I know of it is very alarming how many staff members are selling drugs in prison. They also make a very good profit compared to street prices. Where my husband is, that is really pretty much the only source of drugs and it is everywhere in there. joeyssister 01-10-2006, 11:18 PM Yes i know now they do get drugs in prison thats why my brother didnt make parole today because he got them in prison and i guess he thought he could get away with it. He doest work in the free world so some how some way somebody brought them in. This just makes me sick........ Lysbeth 01-10-2006, 11:39 PM The prison system - at least in the Southeastern part of the U.S. - is crawling with them, most stuff is way easier to get in prison than the street. Whatever you want in prison, you can probably find it within minutes. My guy had never even seen heroin, much less done it, until prison... even tho he'd done just about every other drug there is. witchlinblue 01-11-2006, 02:25 PM I think many prisons are a drug gold mine but some dont seem to be quite as bad as a block away from where I live. I think that drugs are available pretty much anywhere, in or out of prison these days. But I guess it depends where you are from, I would like to think there are some places out there that arent completely saturated with drugs. |
