Sherriqtgrl 10-17-2005, 06:47 PM My husband used to be on D yard at Calipatria. It's a SNY yard, so there's a lot less politics on the yard than on the main line yards. The visiting was ok. The C/O's in the visiting room were usually pretty cool about stuff. At Calipatria, visitors line up outside the prison super early in the morning. I would suggest getting there no later than 6:30am. They let cars in at 8:15. The guard outside will give you a visitor pass to fill out, and then you take it to the visitor processing center, and wait and wait and wait until they call your number. They'll process you, and send you on your way to D yard. Visiting lasts til 2:45. Let me know if I can answer any more questions for you. angel's eyes 10-30-2005, 02:58 AM Hello, my husband is in D yard. I have only visited 2 times. Once when they were on lock down and it was a 20min visit behind a glass window. The second time I went it was a contact visit. It was cool. I got there at 10am and got to visit till 3pm. I had no problems with the C/O's exept they are strict on what you wear. Like I had to go back twice the first time cause my shirt was too short & then my key has the alarm attached to the top it, so my key and alarm are one. But I couldn't take that in there cause it is an electronic. My key came that way from the manufacture but tell them that. Anyway I did not have to wait for my name to be called I actually got to go in right away. You can go anytime as long as you are there before 2pm. You fill out a green piece of paper and stand in a line A where they check you in. Then you stand in line B w/the same paper once it's your turn you go up and take your shoes off and stand up against a wall and raise your arms and see what your wearing then they stamp your hand and check you in. Then you go through the doubel fenced doors to the D building and a c/o checks you in again then you go in another room and check in with those c/o and they will assing a tabel for you and call the inmate out. It's a pretty easy process. |
