As most of you know I had to have 3 emergency surgeries in August to save my life. I have a pen pal on death row. When he was 11 years old he saw his sister chop his mother to death with and axe. One night a woman and he were drinking and she got to saying nasty remarks to him about it and he killed her. Now the state of Fla wants his life. This man taught himself to read and write in prison just so he could survive and understand his attorney and what was going on with his case. He also is a wonderful artist. Hence Card.
With all the crap that he is going through he takes time to draw and paint me beautiful cards. When he found out how sick I had been, this was no exception. If I had a scanner I would show you. He made me one of a rose with 2 butterflies and the rose stem has barbed wire wrapped around it.
I love him as one of my dearest and closest friends and I am so happy to have met him.

Valorie first I want to say I am so happy that the surgeries did what they were suppose too and you are with us.

Isn't it amazing how these guys think about others they care about, no matter what their circumstances are. I think that is wonderful what your friend did for you.

Val...that is so awesome. I could only wish that society in general could see into the hearts of these guys. But if they could, that might cause a change of heart for them that might be positive. God forbid the negative people have a change of heart and see these guys as actual humans.
I too am so glad your surgeries did what they were supposed to.....I really do like having you to talk to. :)

It sounds like he makes you feel better than any surgery. All it takes us for us to show these guys some compassion and friendship and they give us so much in return. I hope you continue to go from strength to strength.
