As some of you have read in my previous posts, my boyfriend is recluctant to really explain any of the classes and requirements that he has to do.
Although he did recently explain that if he doesn't talk about it and dwell on it, he seems to have better success at it.
But when he told me that he is looking at parole in March 2010 he also mentioned that he will have to do six months of Crime Bill.
What is Crime Bill? Is there anything that I should be prepared for???

nothing that YOU need to prepare for, Crime Bill is very much like a 12 step program, it's a replase prevention program and/or substance abuse program....most ever single inmate in alabama that has a crime that drugs may/or may not be involved is incouraged to complete this program.

ladies, correct me if i'm wrong...but is it really 6 months, i'm thinking that it was only 6 weeks or 8 weeks...all these darn programs are running together in my mind....

don't worry, its a good thing and it will help past the time for him, and chances are he'll learn ways to help stay away from drugs, plus it looks great in the parole jacket...

Denise, this is the same program that my son is in. He went up before the parole board in the middle of August and they granted his parole BUT he has to complete this program before he can be paroled out. His graduation date is in April 2006 so I guess it is 6 months. Then he is being paroled out to a rehab facility not home to the freeworld, but he wont be in Bibb Correctional any longer and to me that is great.

By the way Crime Bill = Crime Bill SAP (Substance Abuse Program). Just FYI....
