Your welcome. The directions are easy to follow. Basically you will send the packet in with a money order and they will give you a date to get married.

do you know if its possible if he doesnt have a state issued id. I have his bc and i had the marriage packet from when he was in county jail (which he just left for reception this evening) but i was unable to obtain a marriage license cause the clerks office said you must have id and bc along with the forms signed by both, which i did have. Or does the prison take care of the identification part? I begged the jail to help me with it but was ignored or kicked to the curb and i tried for almost 2 months to get it.

to get married in delano he needs to mail you the marriage packet which he does get from his counselor. he needs to sign everything before he sends them to you. if i remember correctly you will return them to the marriage person in the prison, not the counselor and not the inmate because they do not want him having access to your social security information and birth cert info. No he does not need a state issue id because they already know who he is. You will then have to find a minister who is apporved to go into Delano and marry you. You contact that minister and you pay them. When i did my marriage in Delano the minister cost me 200.00 and then i had to pay for all the copies of the marriage certificate which at the times was 12.00 and the county of bakersfield will send them to you and you send the prison a copy of the marirage cert. When you go to visit him the first time you take the marriage cert to them and show them. There was something else i had to pay for but i do not remember what it is. I think everything cost me roughly 325.00-350.00. It took us almost 5 months to get everything done. You are allowed to have a best man and a maid of honor. You can also doa double ring ceremony and he will be allowed to wear a ring, the marriage person will be there when you first get there and then she leaves before the service starts. That will be the only time you will be able to give him a wedding ring because there is a paper that is filled out and put into his file. Hope all this helps. I belive the person who married us was named Minister Bill. he lived in Bakersfield.

In 2001, I got married at DCCF (Delano) through a place called the Ivy house in Inglewood California. It was like $300 bulks and he had to call their collect at a certain time. And our vows were over the phone. He then signed the marriage application when I went to visit him the following weekend. I then took that back to the IVY House.

Can you please let me know how I can contact IVY House?
