1995 Brian O'Neill died in Elmira prison. Is there anyway I can find out what was the cause of death. I am not an immediate relative so legally I can not find out from vital statistics. I'm hoping someone remembers.
I 've learned that there are a lot of fatalities in that prison.

HI I am not sure about the case you are referring too - I did a google search for his name and it returned nothing - so I dont know - I am going to move this into the NY state forum and maybe someone there can help you and if not then maybe they can move it to a better place to get you some help..... wish I could be of more help to you!!! I was informed that there is a new health law in effect that keeps that kind of information private now.

My first husband died in Elmira in 1992. NYS DOCS requires an autospy on inmates, which results usually are reported in the local papers unlesss it was natural causes. Check the archives of local papers or find an inmate that was there at that time that might be able to give you some infomation. The other simple solution is fnd his family and ask them.
