Goshen – Frederick Travis just got tagged with his fifth felony DWI.

That usually means a prison sentence. For Travis, it could be a life sentence.

Orange County prosecutors want Judge Nicholas DeRosa to send Travis to prison for up to 25 years to life, the same sentence a murderer gets in New York.

I usually don't condone "drunken driving" but to give a life sentence to someone to stop them from driving seems extreme to me!!

It's not extreme if you lost a loved one to a senseless act of drunk driving, like I did. click here to see how Drunk Drivers affect the one's left behind.

I am sorry, I see the temptation for a life sentence but to my mind it is ridiculous.
There has to be a more reasonable effective solution.

Wow, we're in agreement.. haha :)

If we are talking about nobody else being hurt and a life sentence.. Sorry, but that is BS. I understand the danger and I do not condone the act, however you can look at doing what is right and you can also look at the cost to put this person in prison for that long, if that is what makes you "tick".

I think if you are going to force something on this person, it should be re-hab.. Prison for life? No way..
