You're always going to get bigots but they're the ones with the problem!

I think its just a place for people who are in interracial relationships to come when they have to deal with the everyday ignorance of the people that cant see past color.

Unfortunately people can't see past color and continue to cause problems for those who can. Yes its sad that this is a reality in 2005, but its one those in IRR's have to deal with!

You would think so in this age. But there will always be bigots in the world, both black and white.

I have been fortunate in that I really haven't had to deal with many of the problems that some of our members are facing in my current IR relationship but I truly support the efforts this forum is making to give people an opportunity to voice their concerns and opinions.

Mrs dragon summed it up. It is still a problem in 2005 and people's attitudes affect us. We need a place to talk about your unfair and injust treatment that we do get at times.

this forum exists for the very same reason this SITE exists...because while there are a TON of things people should look past, they rarely do look past them, and it's nice to have a place where you can express your feelings without having to deal with prejudice...

In some cases IRR doesnt exisit as a seperate relationship but in the eyes of many it does. There are so many who still believe that you are selling out or going againtst the grain because you are not with your own race.. As ridiculous and ludacris this ideas are they do still exisit. This forum exist because many ppl have problems being in these relationship.. not problems within the relationship but within society.. Everyone doesnt look thru rose color glasses and see a beautiful relationship.. they look thru glasses that are colored with their and only their views.

mrs.flores, read thru the comments on WHY it exists. PTO got alot of inquiries to make this forum what it is today. It has given many an opportunity to express themselves w/o being bashed in the open forum. As much as many of us would like to see the stigmas go away, reality is they still exist. Many disagree with IRR's. So PTO has given a Forum for those struggling w/ the negative attitudes/comments a place to vent & get support.

EVERYONE needs support. ;)

You are probably right on that One luv. However, there is a differnet kind of stigma with interracial relationships. I know of many people who have do not have a problem with anyone of any race, but they do have take issue with IRR's.
