Just curious to see what kind of experiance you'll have had with Walkenhorsts? Ive always used Access but now he wants a package from Walkenhorsts.

Any helpful hints, suggestions, experiences?

Thanks
Jessica

Hey Jess....I used Walkenhorsts for a special package for my honey, he got it within a month when it should of just taken weeks. His Mom ordered his quaterly package through Walkenhorsts and they ran out of stuff and didn't substitute anything and they never sent the package until they got everything that was ordered which ran into the next quarter and screwed things all up for him. He had me use Access for his last package and it arrived within 2 weeks and everything was there! He told me Walkenhorsts can kiss his you know what and he will be going buying from Access from now on!
That's just my story, someone else may have positive feedback for you!
Good luck!
Jess

I used Walkenhorsts for a special purchase-radio. They were very quick. I ordered it one day and it was to CSATF by day 4. It was held there for a month due to the lockdown. No complaints from me!:)

i used walkenhorsts for my husband quarterly package and they were really good with getting it out. there was a problem with the one who processed it with his cdc number but they called the prison got it strightened out so it would not be sent back to the company and they called me and told me they corrected the problem

My pen pal in SQ says Walkenhorsts has a better selection - but I've looked at them and Access. . . Walkenhorsts is too expensive.

I noticed that too! And the shoes he wants/needs are $60 Do you know when the last time I bought myself $60 shoes??

But he only asks for packages once a year so I guess I am going to do it.

THANKS!!

Walkenhorst is the biggest pain but they also have the best selection. As long as you keep on top of them, you should have no problems. Make sure you call a few days after you place your order and find out if anything is out of stock, you can then decide to switch it for something else or ship as is... Good luck

This was my first time ordering a quarterly package for my girlfriend (VSPW) and so far it's been a good experience. I've ordered special purchase packages from Walkenhorsts before and all went smoothly.

Their website is clean and does the job. I really like how it adds the ounces for you. I'm already a screw-up, and this is for my Baby, so I want to be absolutely certain that she gets everything that she wants/needs. So I contacted them a couple of times (read - many) by phone and email and each time I received a prompt, courteous, and most importantly, USEFUL RESPONSE from them. If any of you ever tried to send your loved one something from the poorly trained monkeys at JCPenny, I know you appreciate it too.

Their selection appears to be a lot more extensive than the other vendors. She chooses Walk because they have skin care products she likes and food that she likes to cook with. For those of you who are ordering for women they now carry a lot more feminine hygiene products. For those of you who aren't, probably not very useful. They did take about two weeks to ship the order, but if it means the order is complete, neither one of us cares. It turned out that they did not receive a particular product and I was quickly issued a refund for that amount. That was the one shortfall.

Price. Not great, but not terribly bad either. Many of you will ask how I can say that when you can go down to Savon and buy the same product for a dollar less. This is true and in many ways you/we are getting ripped-off. But I also know that I'm paying about $0.35 a minute for a 15 minute call that would cost someone a few feet outside the prison $0.07 a minute. So, sadly enough, I view it in the light that I'm not getting ripped-off as much as I could be. I've got about eight more years of this, so I grab any bit of sunshine I can find.

There's my long winded answer to a simple question that I can't remember. Hope it helps.

I have had lots of problems with Walkenhorst and will definetly not use them again if I have another choice.

Is there a way to get lists of what each one sales to send to the inmates? Besides printing them out?

The prisons have catalogs that he can look through.

I've used walkenhorst, I guess you can say it was pretty good. I order the wrong item and caught it the next day, all I did was call they changed it no problem, there I had a credit card issue, they called me right away it got cleared up and his package was out the next day, he got it in I think it was 3 days, well he didn't get it in 3 days, it got to satf in 3 days. but he got it the next day so that was good huh? I like them better than any others.
