Recently I ordered a bible study for my loved one.. I received a letter yesterday that it was returned to the Publisher (from whom it was sent) because of lack of approval. So I got on the phone with the facility, and here is what I was told:
The inmate must put in a request himself for the printed materials. If it is a bible study, it goes through the chaplain (name is Danny, really nice and helpful).
The request must include the following information:
Title of Book
Author
Sender's name (i.e. the place you are going to order it from)
Danny (the chaplain) said that the inmate can physically bring the request to him, and virtually have it approved on the spot. He did say, however, that he generally has a line of people waiting to see him (bless his heart) and that some inmates do not wait long enough to see him.
Tell your loved one what you want to send, etc. and tell them to wait patiently to speak with the chaplain directly.
Hope this information is helpful.
God Bless!
