HI All,

I didn't post this the other day because I had a great visit. Plus, I've been resting lately. But both the little guy and I noticed that folks were staring again this past visit. He brought up the whole black woman/latin guy thing again and said we were the only IR visiting group there...I looked around and everyone appeared to be visiting a person of their race.

But I did notice from one black inmate that was there, everytime I looked towards the children's area or the outside walking area...he was looking at me with this disgusted look on his face..he only did it when his lady was in the bathroom, vending area or was looking down. I mean everytime I looked in that direction...he had a look like "You are a stupid B***H". I never had words with the guy, but he just kept looking at me like this.

I had to pass his table when I went to the vending area and he would look at me with an even more disgusting look. I wasn't dressed nasty or anything...I had on jeans with rhinestones on the back pockets and a black shirt that said "Southpole Jeans" on. It had sequins on it and was semi-tight...but wasn't skankish in any way. I admit, i was looking very cute and his girl was a bit on the homely side.

The little dude brought up the IR factor and said something about stares...and I said we are getting a few of them...and that guy was the first person I pointed to and the little guy just said..."He's in my unit!!" and looked over in his direction and turned away. Nothing more was said about him, because little dude was already not feeling well and I didn't want him to go off. The guy was making me uncomfortable...like I said...everytime I looked over in that direction....there he was...staring right back at me!!

Its up to your man to handle it, my man would of had a talk with him back on the yard and told me ahead of time I might be going to lock up. We only had one instance of disrepect at the visitors park and he had words with the guy right in front of me, the next visit the guy came up and appologized to me. I am sorry this happened to you and maybe the guy thought your were pretty and just has one of those face that looks unpleasant(it happens). Still he shouldn't be staring at someone elses guests

who cares if he has a problem with who your dating your happy right?? Thats all that matters I wouldnt worry too much about a stranger who has a staring problem but then again I am the type of person who probably wouldve been like what the hell are you staring at or something but other than that I wouldnt worry too much about it

It can be an uncomfortable feeling getting stared at. Should it happen again don't look at the person. Don't pay that mess any mind, and if you pay it mind anyway, then do it with confidence rather than with intimidation.

I WOULDNT PAY HIM NO MIND..ITS HIS(THE STARING GUY) PROBLEM NOT YOURS. TO ME ITS NOT WORTHING HAVING MY MAN FIGHT OVER TO WHERE HE CAN GET IN TROUBLE AND LOSE PRIVILEGES. JUST DO YOU AND DONT WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE THINKING WHEN YOU GO VISIT.

Let Staring Guy stare! He's probably jealous! You and your guy probably look so good together, so happy with each other that he just can't fathom it. Enjoy your visits with your man. If Staring Guy is going to flake out, it isn't going to happen during a visit, in front of the guards. Not unless he goes stupid.

You know what girl when you visit just sit up proud and if you do see him again staring just ignore him .. he will only do it cause he see he is getting too you.. We know you proud of your relationship and let him know it and feel it by ignoring his ignorant action..

I would let everybody stare! Have you seen Save The Last Dance? When they are on the subway and the old lady was starring at them shaking her head, and they kissed to piss her off? I would do that just to be snotty! But I think it sounds like to me that that other guy wanted you.

I 'm not in an interracial relationship, but my sister- in- law was Caucasian (I said was, because she got killed in a horrible accident years ago) and I think that she Had the same "problem"I have no idea why, because I think that people are people,and if you were a big girl, there would have been stares, a "midget", or whatever. I think that if you were with your man, that's all that matters. I wouldn't allow my visit to be disturbed by ignorance. I say disturbed because if you weren't offended, or disturbed by that person you wouldn't have presented it. not being harsh,so please don't take what I said to be offensive. There are all types of individuals in this wonderful world of ours, so that is to be expected. I personally would have asked did he like what he saw, I see ya' staring.

I think I'd feel funny if people didn't stare! I'm so used to it, but its funny cause he's not, he's only been with 1 other white female besides me. People always stare in the visiting room, and this 1 gaurd(a black female) is always messin with us, I get extra time because I drive so far and she trys her best to mess up our time. If some one has a problem with it oh well! Its retarded and they need to grow up!
