My son just got moved to Winfield. We went up to see him but i miss-understood the paper work. They didn't let us see him. Anyway hope we can get it worked out we'll try again in a couple of weeks.It does't seem to be that bad of a place from what we saw considering it's prison Anyway good to know there's another Winfield!

My fiance is in Leavenworth too!! I really don't like him there. It's dangerous as hell there! I hate it. But he will be out real, real soon! I can't wait!!

My man is in Leavenworth as well.

My best friend/child's father is incarcerated at Leavenworth. It has been a long, hard 2 years so far with lots more ahead.

My son-in-law is in Leavenworth Federal Camp. My daughter is in FMC Carswell RDAP Unit Carswell Texas. She had their son while there and he is with me till she gets out. He was in Springfield and recently transfered (Last week) to Leavenworth, thank god, this is so much closer for us. This is so hard for everyone. He has 7 years left. She thank god, and the RDAP program, will go to Leavenworth Half way house in November. He self surrendered right before Thanksgiving last year. And she self surrendered right before Christmas last year. Missing them very much.

My husband is in the Reno County Jail waiting to go to trial. They are sending him to Larned for evaluation soon he says within the month. Does anyone know if they get contact visits during this evaluation time at Larned? Gracias for the info.

like i have been saying, my bf is in hutch prison and found out today that he had a panic attack while working in the kitchen. so therefore they gave him 2 options. he can quit or get fired and go to the hole. he decided to quit. also he has to go in front of a board and tell them why he didnt get up at a certain time cuz of his meds. right now he is off of them and he cant have any visitors cuz of that. Also instead of leaving Dec 19, he leaves there 6 days later cuz of what happened. UGH!!! THAT REALLY SUCKS!! I havent see him in 6 months!!! We all think he has to do more time somewhere else too but not 100% sure. :-( :-( :-(

My fiancee' recently moved from the USP in Leavenworth to Big Sandy/USP in Inez Kentucky! It is so hard as we were use to seeing each other 2-3 times a week as I only live 30 minutes from Leavenworth. I am hoping to go to Kentucky in the next few weeks.

My husband is one of the barbers there which is what he did on the outside. I get to touch him again..Praise God! We are able to have contact visits again...I usually go every weekend to see him.

I remember my first time visiting out there. I was very unaware of... EVERYTHING! lol The people here on PTO helped me out a lot. I usually visit once every 4 months or so, and see him for the entire weekend. :) I'm coming on my next trip in a few week! :) :) :)

If you do a search on this site for the thread called "Visit at Leavenworth USP recently" that should be able to give you AMPLE amount of information on visiting that prison and any other info. you might not have thought of.

Well Hutchinson Correctional Facility I can see from where I sit...just out my back window about a block away...El Dorado is about an hour and a half from here going East near Wichita and Lansing is up by Kansas City...about 3 and a half hours away from Hutch heading North. My husband recently got transferred from El Dorado to Ellsworth which is about an hour from our home.

Well, he's back at El Dorado....looks like he'll be there for a while, too :rolleyes:

Life deals us bad hands some times, and mine was no exception as in 1982, my only son, who I had full custody of, as his mother had an alcohol problem, was kidnapped during a required visitation.

For the past 23 years I have about exhusted every avenue of finding him, then a PI friend tried and we found my son, doing a mandatory minium of 6 years, in Hutchinson.

His name is Justin Thomas Lee Ingram (DOB 1981)

His release date is Sept, of '07.

When the prison officials found out that I had not seen or talked to him since he was 2 years old, I got a phone call the next day, from his counselor and my son was on the other end. It seems my son was looking for me, as well, since he was 16, having quit believing the changing stories from his mother about where I was and the circumstances of why I was not there for him.

Unless one is a parent, no one knows how it feels to hear the words, "I love you, Dad." after 22 years of no words.

Kansas Corrections was kind enough to pay for the two hour call, as they said it met "special circumstances."

Since then, I write every day and once a month he calls me..
I would like the opportunity if someone else has a son in Hutch, to communicate regarding certain issues they may assist me with.

He has had some DR's on him and on or about Oct-Nov of this year, I may see him for a full contact visit.

The trouble is, I am in a Powerchair, disabled, and in poor health and may very well be deceased beforre his release date. I hope not as I have missed my son all these years.

My main problem, (Regarding him) is that during a move to another section it seems the guards have lost his stamps, of which I paid for (Although living on $520.00 per month, I send him $20-40.00 each month) and despite any phone calls to Hutch or Dept.of Corrections, I get smoke blown up my --- about any resolution, so have not recieved a letter form him in two weeks as he has no stamps until I can send if MORE $$.

Then, the other problem is that unlike other states, the canteen, in which prisoners can get things by purchasing them, at the prison itself, these guys have to make an order, which is sent to St. Louis and it is ANOTHER two weeks before they recive what they ordered.
Is there any "fix to this? (My son getting some stamps so I can "hear" from him instead of waiting another 2 weeks)

My son is currently in The El Dorado Correctional Facility in RDU. He has been there for 3 week and was told he would at least be there for another 4 weeks. He is in lock down for 23 hrs a day. He wants to be sent to Lansing, but they have told him it would be Norton or Hutchinson.

A ill Mom who fears she will die before her son gets out in 3 yrs.

My boyfriend is in Lansing for 18 months. He's doing the TC program. He's in Min.

It usually only takes rdu about 4 weeks. My boyfriend just got out of rdu. And if you call rdu and ask to talk to a case manager and request he geta sent to a certain place because of like a illness or something mine was because I'm pregnant he got sent to lansing but it also what program he gets and what level.

In addition to my guy being at Hutchinson East, I know found out today that his nephew is at Norton. He was convicted in March but only has to serve about 9 months. Then he will be up for parole. I pray he learns his lesson.

What is the difference between permanent parting and regular work release ? My husband is trying to get that .

My husband was just transported from Butler County Jail to RDU at the EDCF--El Dorado Correctional Facility.

Gia I am glad he finally got transferred. My son is still at RDU he thinks he will go to Hutchison, Norton, or Lansing. If they have him to the SO program.

My husband is currently in El Dorado correctional Facility/RDU...He has been there for about 3 weeks.Will be getting moved before long.

my husband is in El Dorado, he gets out May 21 2009. I can hardly wait. If anyone who has a loved on in EDCF please feel free to message me.

This is all new to me my man is in sedg county waiting to see where they will send him on a parol vialation. We have been togeather for 3 years and i don't know how i will do with out him.

My brother is in Jail in El Dorado, I think it's Butler Co. Jail, waiting to go to El Dorado for evaluation/processing, then I don't know where to state prison for about two years.

just go to kdoc website and do an inmate search and ull find the inmates page along with their inmate # which ull need to put on every envelope next to the inmates name...
at least i think it would also show leavenworth.. pretty sure
if it doesnt then if i was u id just search the prison on like yahoo or something and u should b able to find a site that has it along with an inmate search..

my sons dad just arrived at leavonworth ks federal prison on drug charges from virgina.. hes in for 2 counts, got 37 months to run consective. just started his sentence for that but hes been locked up since march of 2009

My fiance just got sentenced to 25 years at Leavenworth. I'm not bitter or angry. I miss him terribly. He is a wonderful man and I plan on sticking by his side. He will need me there for him to keep him strong. Can anyone give me any advice on visiting him at Leavenworth?

My baby just got moved out of RDU to Ellsworth today! I can't wait for that visit :)

It sure would be nice to communicate with other people who have loved ones in Leavenworth. This is all very new and scary for me.. Mine and his story is such a long and sad one. After being apart for 17 yrs, we finally get in contact again, and he's at the lowest point in his life Ever. I take him unconditionally, knowing the trouble he was facing.
