When my son went from County Jail to NKSP his money that was on the books followed him there; took about 3 weeks from Riverside. He will need to send you the visiting form as he needs to sign it before sending it. It is not difficult for him to get the form. Approval is taking about 6 - 10 weeks depending on the facility so tell him to send it asap.

His money will follow him, and it shouldn't take months. Weeks at best. And HE does need to send the form, they are all over in there, so that shouldn't be a problem.

the money my son had on his books went with him right away. but the time he was out of reception he had it. but once he hits mainline they will tax it. i think its 44%. so its best to send all that you can so it wont be taxed. then after that you should be able to send packages. but those you can only send every 3 months. good luck!

They are probably talking about a Property Request form which they should have had him fill out before he left County. It would also be the same form he would fill out so you could pick up his personal effects at the jail after he has left.
In any case, the property request form you can usually pick up at the City/County jail and mail it to him to fill out, sign and send in.

thank you. but we've already delt with his property.... it's his money thats on his books. i made sure there was a grip so he wouldn't get taxed so hard when he got to prison. but he's been at delano for 6 weeks and it hasn't followed. so i keep having to put f$40 here and $40 there. he doesn't ask i just do it. mcj said he needs to do this form... thanks everyone.:) if anyone hears of anything else i can do, pls let me know.

My hubby was just transfered and I called the CO jail to find out. She told me that as long as he got a form stating that he had money in his books before he was transfered the money went with him. I confirmed that he got the form yesterday (a few hours before he was transfered thank God). No forms to fill out that I know of.

My fiance has been in and out of the system for quite some time and sometimes i think he knows more than the attornies and half the prison authorities. But he says that all the money you take from your books at county they cannot take anything out towards restitution. what goes with you stays with you...its once we start sending it is when they can take up to like 55% or something crazy. He left for reception tonight and he was bugging me and reminding me to make sure i put as much as possible before he goes to state cause after that its all fair game..well not fair to our loved ones or us actually.

There is a form that my son mention to have funds transferred from one prison to another prison or maybe it's only used from Donvan to a MCCF. It's a CDC 1000 which is a "request for release and transfer of funds". He said without it it could take a longer period of time to get his money from Donovan. He also mentioned something about the term "Drawal" because when he was sentence to prison I had put money on his property via money order, in which he was able to drawal from. I was told that it could take up to 6 weeks for the money on the books to be transferred and by putting money on his property via the money order he would be able to get to that faster.

My boyfriend went from Riverside Co. Jail to NKSP and his money followed him there without any problems. He did tell me to put in as much money as i could before he got transferred to State Prison because of the 44% tax! I called NKSP yesterday and was told that 44% is taken out REGARDLESS of whether they're in reception or mainline!!
