Hey, my name is Melissa, last November a good friend of mine got picked up for a crime that I don't want to get into any details about but as the whole thing unraveled even the judge said that the county prosecuters were wasting her time. Anyway, even when his charges got proven to be a farse it was too far into it and he is now serving 2-5 years. The soonest he could be out is in about 19 months I think, and then he would be tethered.

Here is where it gets hard. My friend has no family in the area, he has 3 children who all live out of state and an ex-wife who refuses to contact him because if she does her mom will stop paying her rent. (This is Days of Lives worthy drama I swear) So basically all he has left is me and a few scattered friends of mine that were close to him as well that don't seem to do anything at all.

As far as his money goes, he is down to around $50. I don't know how I am supossed to keep sending him money when it's almost all gone - I'd help support him but I need to support myself. I've found a few places that will give him free books, which is great since he loves to read. But I need help finding other services since I'm pretty much taking care of him all by myself. And I'm only 20 so it's really, really hard on me.
