Like a step son is in Florence Eyman Unit SMU II. Have you ever heard of a disciplinary action inside a prison and the inmate being found innocent? NO WAY. Because the prison is the Judge, Jury and Executioner.

hello my brother is at corranado in winslow hes been there for a week now and hopefully he gets out in dec.

My friend Jeff was at Douglas, but was shipped to a private facility located in Newton County Texas with a bunch of other inmates from AZ. Because it is a private institution there are no education or vocational programs, no library, not a whole lot to do. Jeff says it is really lax though, which seemed strange at first.

I live in Alabama and my son in in Floence prison in Az and needs pen pals. He is not a violent person and is 27 yrs. old. I flew out there to see him in Nov of 03 . He is at a good place . He is going to college and doing good. I plan to go back soon and visit him. Thanks for answering my Email.

I've learned to not believe anything he's been told, but my man recently was sent to the Oklahome (fed) transfer center and he was told he was slated to move to Safford in a couple weeks...but he has been mislead so many times...I don't count any chickens anymore!

Carlos is in the Eyman Complex, Cook Unit. He was sentenced nearly 5 months ago.

My fiance just got sentenced, and he is in Towers Jail right now, awating his next move to Alhambra then we are not sure where he is going to be sent to after that.

You're lucky. My guy was in the Lewis yard.........the guards hauled him out of his cell at gunpoint thinking he was part of the recent hostage situation. The guards were pressuring him for all kinds of info about the guys in the towers. What happened to the guards knowing WHO they are in charge of! He was thrown in a stripe cell for 11 days, no food 3 days no bedding the whole time no high blood pressure meds for 5 days AND the woman guard given to watch him writes him up for flashing her while he gets up to pee! :pissed:

He don't want to move because I go to AZ to see him and my grandson his son lives there but they won't let his son visit him there. Have you heard about any laws about Az prisoners only having to spend 50% of their sentence or about a new parolee system. I live in Ala. and I get the front page of the Az Republic to keep up with news about the prison system there and today I'm gonna look up the new az. laws on prison reform. Where do you live. I hope your guy gets out soon.

:wave: hello everyone... someone i was really close to, and care a lot about is in aspc- santa rita unit. His name is carlos- I met him as carlos, but in prison goes by jose gabriel. He was sentenced 2 yrs. It will be a year march 9th, since the last time i saw him, and also the day he was put in jail. I recently found out about adoc online and that's how I know where he is now. I wrote him a letter, and am waiting for a responce and also for him to send me paperwork so I can go to visit him. My son was moved last year to Newton Texas. Its more or less a warehouse for extra bodies that arizona has no room for! No jobs no support classes nothing !!!! no Classes for Ged! and when he was in Tucson he had a good job making sign's for the prison and was taking classes for his GED. and I will be taking a 2 day bus ride and $700 dollors later for hotel and to rent a car because the bus only goes to Deridder LA. 35 miles from Newton TX. I can visit my son for a few hours on Sat. and Sun.

My husband is in Florence, Eyman complex, Cook unit, and we were married recently ( July 2003) while he is in prison. It gets hard at times, because I feel so alone, not being able to hold him is the hardest part of all. I miss him terribly and although he calls me 4 times a week and I get to see him all of 3 hours on the week end, I just want him home.

My son is at Florence West. I love my son, and I wish that his life wasn't interrupted by his crappy driving. He didn't cause an accident while he was driving drunk, but he had a former ticket, that caused his license to be suspended. So he is in prison for an aggravated DUI.

I KNOW that driving while intoxicated is dangerous. I appreciate that we, as a society, need to discourage people from doing this. But should we wreck a young man's LIFE for making this mistake? He is despondent. So am I.

Forgive me; I don't know if Perryville is fed or not, but if it is, you can go on the website bop.gov, and use the "inmate finder" option to look up your partner's whereabouts...if you're not sure if she's at P'ville or not. Have you thought of calling the administrative office there? That's also available on a link from the BOP website, if indeed it's federal. Hope something here helps.

Sorry it took me so long to get back with you. you will need to go into inmate data search for Arizona just type in her name and mark female she shpuld come up. If that doesn't work call down to perryvale and ask if she is there. thats about the best I can do. hope it helps you out.

go into arizona inmate data search and put her name in and if you know her D.O.C. # AND IT SHOULD COME RIGHT UP. If not just call them down at the prison. hope this helps you out.

Do you live in phoenix? and would you be interested in car pooling down there? it is about 3 and a half hours one way from phoenix but I go the night before sometimes and stay in a hotel then go the next morning. do you know if you can visit both sat and sat. someone told me you could. and that was ok down there as far as there visiting process. just watch what you wear. We just left Yuma, were in Dakota for 6 months. Very volatile yard. Last I heard, the 2004 legislative session ended and they ignored the issue of overcrowding once again. Just have faith that God is in control. :)

I've been to the DOC website..but I was looking for information from someone who has visited there firsthand and knows what kind of a yard it is.

Hi purpletaz, East has split visitation I beleive, at least they used to. They have like afternoons on Sat then mornings on Sunday, then it rotates the next week. East is a level 3 yard that is classified as ADA, which means it is generally for people with disabilities or limited mobility. This isnt everyone, there is overflow from other 3 yards that go to East that are not disabled, but that is the majority. My husband was there like 10 years ago and we have a friend who just left there, and I have a friend who is a nurse there. East and North are the only general population yards in Florence that are not sex offender or max. security yards. East is known to be a pretty good yard, from what I know.

He said East Unit was good but likes it in OK much better; they are treated with more respect but the rules are confusing because some days they go by the rules for AZ and other days they use the rules for OK. My 19 year old brother is in Lewis, Buckley Unit. (I'm 24.) My Father is also in prison in California. Yep, the apple did not fall too far from the prison yard. I am heartbroken that my youngest brother has entered the system especially in Arizona. I live in California and it will be difficult to visit him as often as I would like. So far I have stayed sane by writing my brother frequent letters, sending money and books. I am horrified by the Arizona legal system, Sherrif Joe Arpaio, and the prison conditions and lack of available educational programs available. I just pray that all hope that my brother does not lose all hope and grow too hard during his 5 year stay in the Arizona Prison system.

My girlfriend is in Perryville (Unit Santa Cruz). I live in Portland, Oregon so I can't visit her too often. I just flew down to visit her for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. Hotels and rental cars are kind of expensive in Arizona.

Hey all... I'm new to the group. I am very very worried about my boyfriend. He is an inmate at the Estrella Jail and has been very sick the past couple weeks. He has always been so healthy, so to see him like this scares me. He put in 3 "tank orders" to see a doctor and finally they called him in to see one on Thursday, but the doctor decided to take a three hour lunch break while he waited and they told him to come back Monday. They drew blood and did a TB test... is this just routine? I know TB is associated with prisons. If he does have something serious are they required to treat him??? If it's TB, do they treat the inmates with the D.O.T.S. TB treatment?? Does anyone have experience with jail medical treatment?

I live in Indiana and my fiance is there (he's also from Indiana, just got into trouble in AZ) and i can't seem to find anything on him. Thank you. You will. He just went in late last year and received a 3 1/2 yr sentence and I find this site very helpful as well as supportive, which is very important at a time like this.

My son is currently in Lewis Prison in Buckeye. He was sentenced in March and sent to Douglas. Due to threats to him he was transferred. I haven't spoken with him in over two months. When I called Douglas to see the status of the visitation form I completed I was informed that they had never received any for my son (2 were sent, 1 from a friend in arizona and 1 from me in massachusetts). Now I've got to wait till I get the applications and start the process all over again because the way I understand it, they don't forward them when a prisoner is transferred. Who do these judges think they're punishing? the prisoners? The prisoners may suffer being there, but it's us on the outside that are going through hell!!

I thought I had a ride worked out, and I seen him this last Saturday, but the girl I got a ride with never showed up on Father's day, and could not be reached. I tried hitch hiking there and got as far as the Safeway at Meridian and Main and by then it was too late to make the 1:00 sign in. I'm depressed and I miss him terribly. Ryan was expecting me cuz I told him I'd be there, and I hate like hell to let him down.

I just got a call from my friend today. He is going to be out on Temporary Release on Saturday!!!!! Yeah!!! Now we just have to put up with community supervision for 3 months.

son was just moved from Peco texas to florence december 11, 06.

My Man's in Yuma-Cheyenne...2months into 4.2yrs

My husband was transferred from Florence West to the Barchey Unit of Lewis in Buckeye. His release date is 3-11-2007 from State.
Now we must deal with the Feds. They will pick him up on 3-11-07, put him in custody and we have to WAIT again for him to see the sentencing judge. If anyone knows how this process works please, let me know.

My brother was moved from Coronado (Winslow) to Kaibab after he was notified of a warrant/probation violation on another charge and went back and forth to Pinal county to resolve it. Estrella Jail, one of Joe's palaces. I hate the way she looks everytime I see her, the not being able to at least hold her hands. I do however have to admit, that the COs have so far been extremely polite and courteous to us while we visit.

I have not been approved for visitation yet, but I just found out I'm in there system and now I'm told it will take another 4-6 weeks for my background check. I think that's pretty ridiculous. I am still trying to learn how to navigate, etc in all this. hope this is ok.
My son left town yesterday afternoon for DOC. From what I have heard, first he goes to Alhambra for processing, then I am almost sure he will go to Florence. The Mitigations guy who worked my sons case says he will probably go to SMU first. can you explain just what SMU is please. thanks.

My Bf. is out at Lewis, Bauchman Unit... he is 19 years old... going for 3.5 with almost a year credit

Aloha, My Man Was @ Diamondback In Oklahoma And Now Is @ The New Prison Saguaro Correctional Center In Eloy, Arizona.....so Far, Ive Heard Alot Bad Things About That Place....my Man Has 5months Then He Max Out....so Hopefully He'll Be Headed Back To Hawaii Soon....

My man is in the Kingman prison-and they are getting ready to transfer 300 guys to Oklahoma the first week of next month!!! I just have to wait and see if he will be one of them.

What!! RogersGal they won't give him or the family any notice?? Did he volunteer and if he is chosen he will get transferred?

BJ2010 he did not volunteer to be transfered, and he really does not want to go! They are usually told the day before they are transfered so that does not give them much time to notify the family! Now we just wait to see what 300 guys are chosen to transfer. He did say that they had a sign up list for anyone that wants to volunteer but he is staying far away from that list and hoping and praying that he does not get transfered out!

This happened at Ft Grant late September and even the volunteers got NO notice. I got to call a few ladies to let them know that news. It's pretty lame that they dont let them know but at the same time I can understand why they dont.

My husband was transferred there (Saguaro) in August from Tallhatchie in MS. He hasn't told me it's really bad, he said it doesn't really "feel like jail" more "dorm like"...-although I don't know if he'd really tell me if it was bad or not- He said the food sucks, tho. He's in Unit M. which is the Faith Pod, he is not overly religious, but he likes the vibe in this pod better than General Pop he said. more mellow guys and not as much "youngsters". He has another year to go.
