He's at CSATF and he says its crap he really hates it and keeps to himself a lot.

I think the reason Paul does'nt tell me is that he does'nt want to upset me or scare me. He does'nt want me to worry or be troubled with it. It almost makes me worry more him not talking about it. I want to ask him straight out how bad it is, but I think I am afraid of the answer.

He's at PV now, not paradise, but sooooo much better than Lancaster, his last stop. So he's pretty happy. And visiting is real nice there, so I'm happier too.

Mine is at C.M.C. West... its a dormitory type so its not that best, he prefers a single cell. But hes been in long enough that hes comfortable wherever and has a bit of a following. Of course no man actually likes prison! But the one hes in.. could be worst.

Crstnamre, he has 29 to life, first comes up for parole in 2030... so it's a long haul, if not forever. And yeah, neither one of us liked Lancaster.

At PV he is close to home and visiting is so relaxed... the COs are really nice, at least to us visitors...it feels more like we're in a high school cafeteria than a prison LOL.

Mine is in satf yard A, he says its a petty prison, he can't wait to get out, He says it's alot of bull****, going on out there, He claims to be just doing his time, I guess you can say the best of it all would be the visits which is ok for a prison.

My husband has been to CSATF and now Avenal. They both have their share of crappy issues....from lock downs to crappy food to evil counselor's to no organization.
I think that is the overall theme of CDC...lack of organization!!!

You know, the administration should really know better than to allow gen pop inmates to prepare PC inmates food. That is sick and sad that they are able to do this and get away with it. I would definitely report this, it can't hurt.

Just trying to gage how much longer we have. Kris got there in June I think the 7th. Any info would be appreciated

my guy is in SQ... he hates it and doesnt tell me much, but the more I find out on my own the more he "shares the wealth".

My penpal is also in SQ and he paints an entirely different picture... probably because he takes full advantage of the programs, groups and classes... and he answers most of the questions about the place I throw at him.

Thanks.

My honey is at the CCF in Taft, and he said it was Camp Snoopy.

He also said the cookies were better in Wasco.

I'm really grateful for contact visits and and being able to kick him in the shin. I thought (and after talking about it, he agreed) that this is worse on me than it is on him, and he's the one incarcerated. Seems so wrong!!!!!! Oh well, like I said, at least I can kick him now. And kiss him too.

High Desert State Prison in Susanville, he doesn't say a whole lot about the place besides that the food is an improvement over San Quentin (He was at the Q for reception) but from my own observation, the place is awfully "sterile", but overall as prisons go, not such a nightmare as SQ or Pelican Bay... The COs at High Desert have been unfailingly polite to me, some even friendly, even when I was getting my butt chewed off for being too relaxed in the visiting room.

Yeah, mine's been in Lancaster about a year. He was in Mule Creek before, which was my first prison visiting experience, but he's been getting locked up regularly since he was 14 or so. Lancaster makes Mule Creek seem like a PARADISE. For him and for me, too. The guards were always pretty nice to me, and recognized me, and few seemed to have the outright contempt for inmates and their loved ones that I saw at Lancaster. Also the visiting is *insane* there. The waiting, the hoops one has to jump through to even *get* to the visiting room. I was sooooo miserable to come 3000 miles and spend a thousand dollars (not to mention time off work) and get about half the time each day that I used to spend with him. He's always on lock down and seems more "convict" than I have seen him be ever. It breaks my heart when I hear how much he feels he has to be isolated from others in that place. There just seems to be more chaos, more confusion and tension, and more people with less to LOSE.

Also it took him ALL year to get medical care for his (already diagnosed) HCV and he has some skin cancer nobody is looking at that got biopsied and removed but has since grown back..... I think his teeth are rotting out of his head. I mean, I want him to SURVIVE long enough to get OUT and be with me!!!!

I believe that many prisons put our guys on lockdown simply because they are short staffed and its "safer" for them to do so. SAD.

My hubby is at HDSP reception. He said it is not bad. Just boring! They only get out for breakfast and dinner. They walk to each and only have a few min. to eat before they go back to lock down. I have 2 friends who are down, one at Chino and one at a private prison in Coalinga. Chino is extremely old and dirty and there are NO PHONE CALLS for those who are there just for a parole violation, so i cannot talk to my friend there, though i can visit him. I visited someone else there once before, and it wasn't a bad experience -- very quick to get in, and 45 minutes behind glass with phones. It wasn't nearly as bad as visiting my local county jail. My other friend is in a privately run prison in Coalinga. He says it's like Mayberry RFD and that everyone is a hick. There's only 400 guys there, and it's one big dorm, minimum security, and everyone gets along. They have contact visits there, too. I have not ever been there. They are really picky about the mail, however, and i have had stuff sent back for really petty reasons.

Lancaster is where my man is at and they are always on lock down. Visiting is hard because they put you through bull. Only thing is that it is the closest level 4

I have personally been to Jamestown two times. It is basically a reception center for the Southern Fire Camps, but if you are not going to fire camp, it is not a good place to be. There are literally no programs there for somebody who is doing the remainder of their time there. The dorms are extremely overcrowded, and there is constant tension between different groups of inmates on the yard. It takes a long time to get to camp, if you ever get there. I almost felt like I got lucky to get through there as quickly as I did; you always hear stories about lockdown and riots when you finally get to camp, and it leaves you feeling like, "man, I'm glad I'm not there anymore." Anyway, I hated it, but its prison, your supposed to hate it, that way you dont go back. lol, I hope this helps. Have a good night.
