This has nothing to do with military prison. I have a friend that is out on wespac and I want to send him cookies. HELP? How do I do this and whats the best way to send them so they don't get broken. How long will it take for him to receive them appx? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Christina,

I apologize for taking so long to see this.

I can almost promise you that the cookies will get there broken! But I can also promise you that he won't care!

I don't know how much the regs have changed on shipping food to a ship, because of 9/11. But in my day, keep in mind I retired from the Coast Guard in 1995 and the last time I was stationed on a ship ended in 1989, when my Mom's (ex-husband could not bake worth a darn, though I have to admit he tried!) cookies got to the ship, they were pretty much crumbs, and a bit stale at times, but I did not care! They were from home and my Mom's best homemade! So they were always good!

Best way to send them, hmm, well will consult Mom tomorrow to make sure I don't miss anything here, for at that time we did not care how they were packed they did not last long at all when they did not get there moldy!

I can only remember one time when it took six weeks to get to the boat, I cried that time, had to feed them to the fish. :(

Put them in a pringles can with a piece of wet bread on top, they wont get stale, or broken. Quite moist and delicious actually.

I had forgotten about the pringles cans!
