YAY!!!!!!! for us on C Yard they updated they 800 today and guess what??
We FINALLY have visits! I think it said the exception was whites and bulldogs do not have contact visits; and anyone who didnt interview does not get visits (which i assume the ones who didnt interview are ones who dont get visits anyway).
So :D

I just wanted to say hello and i hope everyones visits went well. . . and for the ones still behind the glass; hang in there!!! they will have to change that soon! i am wondering if they will start to switch it up and have the whites contact visits for a week and then back to behind the glass because of all the problems going on right now.

We are new to SVSP, can you give me the brief update on what the problem is with the whites please? He just transferred last week to B yard so I haven't heard if they are on LD or will have visits this weekend.

the visiting info number is 1.800.374.8474; push 1;2;6. the message was updated Saturday 9.25.05.
They said whites in building 1 & 2 are behind the glass.
Make sure you call and check the number before you go visit.
i think there is a problem with the whites and bulldogs right now and thats why they are both non contact but i am not positive. around there things change so fast its hard to tell.
they usually update the visiting info wed or thursday pm but if you plan to visit its good to call everyday to make sure you stay updated.

yeaaaa my hunnies best friends is so excited cause he's locked up and was on lockdown for a long time. now i get to see him cause my hunny cant cause he's a bad boy

Is SVSP the same as Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad? My son is new to this prison. What can you tell me about it? He says that is "sucks" (those are his words, not mine...sorry) I heard it was for those with low points, like not real serious crimes. Is that true?

Yes and my fiance says that it is the worst prison that he has been transferred to. Some of the issues include understaffing and new c/o's. Visits have always been nice and i personally have never had a really bad experience there.

yes its the same place. . . there are alot of things about that place that suck as your son said; problems with the understaffing, alot of new co's, depending i think on what yard you are on over there, they never seem to keep a regular program. though for the most part the one thing i do like is generally, when it comes to visits, they are pretty relaxed most of the time. as far as it being for people with low points, i think that just depends on what yard they are on; though they are changing things around alot over there so im not sure if that is the same now or not.

Thanks for your replies. Could someone tell me what the "whites" you refer to are? Is that those that are caucasion? I must admit I am a novice at all of this and don't understand the "whites" and the "dogs" or whatever you all refered to. Help?????

Is anyone else s mail taking forever, He's white are they having problems with receiving mail??????

mail usually always takes forever over there; if you send your letter certified, it will get to him the fastest, but even then it can take a while.
