Hi how are you? Well, I just recently moved my mom up to Tucson, where she lives is nice, I am from Texas and it just seems as if the cost of living there is much cheaper, rent- on nice apartment units and light bills- are way more cheaper than here. She lives over off E. Golf Links RD. The apartments around that area are nice, I think it is like the south side ( i don't want to lie) that is a bad area, I can let you know tomorrow after I talk to her tonight, Where my mom lives in Tucson is like 5 minutes to everything (not even 5 minutes) she has the mall nearby , the university of Arizona, she is not that far from downtown either. But if you like alot of activity, you may consider the Pheonix area, it is a drive from Tucson though. But anyone with social lives normally travel to Phoenix. Tucson, has a couple of nice spots though. I guess if the hurricane hits Texas, that is where I'll be this weekend too. But maybe once it cools down there, it will be better, cause to me, I just couldn't wait to come back to Texas, it was soooo hot there. And since she has no kids, I don't know about the daycares and schools, sorry.

HELLO AND WELCOME.. I AM NOT FROM TUCSON BUT MY MAN IS. I DO KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE SOUTH SIDE IS WHERE YOU WANT TO STAY AWAY FROM. ANYTHING EAST OR NORTH EAST IS NICE AND GOOD HOODS.
IT GETS A LITTLE PRICIER UP THERE BUT WORHT THE SECURITY I WOULD THINK FOR A SINGLE WOMAN AND A CHILD. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED AS I AM ALSO THINKING OF MOVING TO TUCSON BEFORE HE GETS OUT IN 2006. I WOULD LIKE TO BE SETTLED AND HAVE A GOOD JOB AND HOME BEFORE HE PAROLES OUT. HAVE A GREAT DAY AND TAKE CARE....

SINCERELY, PATRICIA:thumbsup:

Hello!!

Tucson is a wonderful city!! I would suggest living on the East side of town(Harrison Rd, Golf Links Rd, Old Spanish Trail, Houghton Rd, Wrightstown Rd, or closer to the Catalina foothills. The Catalina Foothill School District is excellent!!
I will PM you with more information. I know Tucson like the back of my hand!!

I live in Tucson on the east side, and yes the south side is not a good place to live. One thing tucson has is alot of apts. and they are always offering deals. Are you looking for a house or apt.? If I can be of any help, let me know, but I don't have any kids so I can't help you there.

Hi,
I live in the Phoenix area and hoping my husband will get transferred to Tucson. He's in Texas right now. If he does, I will definitaly move to Tucson. It is much cheaper than PHX and less crowded. Good luck!

Ha ha. I live on the South side and I love it! To each his own I guess. North and East are supposed to be nice. I'll stay with my own kind in the bad part of town.:D

I live on the Northwest side of Tucson about 1 mile from Interstate 10 so it's relatively easy to get anywhere in town that I need to go. This might be considered the "pricier" area of town, but it's really not bad at all and worth the added security, especially when there are children involved. As I am sure there are nice people on the South Side, you won't find me there...the last time I was down there I (a 5'3 125 lb white girl) was jumped by 5 large black men in front of my children. The East side (Houghton/Golf Links area) are great if you don't mind being in the middle of nowhere. FYI...anyone planning on moving here to Tucson needs to avoid moving near Prince/I-10...the people who already live here know why! :haha: LOL

I live in Tucson and there are alot of nice areas. The North west is nice and not to exspensive. Alot of traffic at rush hour! The north east is VERY expensive, central is less expensive down in the Sam hughes area but still more then the north west (Orange Grove/Thorneydale area isn't bad). In the summer it is alot easier to get apts because the college students have left (and the snow birds). The joke about the Prince and I-10 area, hyperion plant!! Waste water treatment. Smells bad!! They are building alot of new apts etc. in the downtown area also.

I have lived in L.A., Portland, you name it and it's not any worse here then other cities. There are alot of good things about Tucson, it seems alot smaller then it is because it's sprawled out. I live in an area that is supposed to be a bad area but I have never had a problem except from my husbands family!! I have lived in the same place for 13 years and have only been ripped off by his family!!

If you have any questions I can help you with, PM me.
