My husband is in the Therapeutic Community Program at Wildwood Correctional Center in Kenai Alaska. They have just passed a new "RULE" children may no longer sit on the lap of a prisoner, no contact after you "first hello hug" no more holding hands no touching of any kind! Where is the CONTACT part of this contact visit. I do understand my husband is in prison. He is being punished for being a drug addict, he has been taken from socioty and locked up. He is paying for his crime. However I do not feel my children should have to any longer. They look at there father as a good man who raised them thats there daddy! They do not see the drug addict that comitted a crime. it was hard enought on the children only being allowed to visit 5 hours a week, and that is only if they skip church. DAD or CHURCH? Thats a hard thing for an 8 year old to deside. I am asking you to help me get back our childrens rights, The right to be held and read a story to. the right to be tickeld to brake the ice of the cold lonley visiting room. The write to lean on dad if they need to, The right for dad to wipe away there tears.
Please help me get contact back into contact visits in Alaska prisons.
