I should probably know the answer to this question, but I don't. Does anyone know the process? What's the average time for it to transition from a bill to a law?

View Full Version : How does a bill become a law? DJB's Wife 09-15-2005, 08:12 PM I should probably know the answer to this question, but I don't. Does anyone know the process? What's the average time for it to transition from a bill to a law? klove 09-24-2005, 07:53 PM Theeres a cartoon that used to come on tv on saturday mornings, it was with a bill that need to be passed and the bill was singing this song of the changes it had to go through, and at the end of the song hes sings until then I'm just a bill, a bill has to go through so many processes before it can be considered, legislation, senate and so for and until then it's just a bill, that may never go any further than being just a bill. A bill needs some kind of enforcement behind it. jessnkat 09-24-2005, 08:27 PM That was my all time favorite School House Rock!!! Here's a link to the song that Bill sung explaining how it happens: http://www.school-house-rock.com/Bill.html Now I'll be singing that song all night!! ***I'm just a bill....Yes, only a bill.....sitting here on Capitol Hill*** DJB's Wife 09-25-2005, 06:46 AM Now that I read this, I remember that cartoon. Thanks!! AvengingAngel 09-27-2005, 06:31 PM http://www.michigan.gov/som/0,1607,7-192-29701_29704-2836--,00.html Not as much fun as Schoolhouse Rock, but explains the process in detail. |
