I am an ex-felon and have been out of the prison system now for four years. It has been a long and difficult road but I am determined to stay out and do the right thing. Last time was my second time and I am getting too old to be in there.

After release from prison in 2001, I worked for a couple different companies but of course always lost the job after my criminal history came out. I started my own computer business and now specialize in web design, e-commerce & web hosting throughout central and south Alabama. In today's business world and background checks, self-employment was the only alternative to frequent job changes.

Since I have been out of there so long, I can't answer many questions of the way things are and what policies are in place for each facility because they seem to change day to day and facility to facility for no apparent reason. I will try to contribute from experience and from my current contact with a few friends that are still in the system now.
