I went to see my boyfriend on sat. and I was amazed at how UNsecure it is..he could walk out the front door if he wanted to!! I don't feel sorry for him anymore since he is able to watch movies drink all the soda he wants and buy things like radios and SPAM ..lol spam just happens to be one of his favs. don't ask me why cause all I can say is my daughter eats it just like him..must be a korean thing?? anyway visiting him was so much fun and only 1 gaurd in the building! as for metal detectors HA! there are none but they did make me change my shirt cause it was white and no that wasn't on the rules list either!!!!! so i went to the gift shop across the street and bought a 12 dollar shirt that has a hole already lmao!...he is pretty much in a dorm with a bunch of pot heads and meth dealers..lol so I get to see him every weekend if I want so time should fly by..he is only 2 hours from me. BTW he is in Leavenworth Prison Camp. it looks like an apt. building with big fences..lol well anyway my mind is at ease now since he calls every other day and writes all the time so I am a lot happier! -casey

Casey, I'm glad you had such a good visit; thanks for sharing!

And, I must admit...I'm a little surprised at the conditions you describe at Leavenworth. I had always thought federal houses were tougher.

Fed-Ex...any thoughts on this?

Casey,

I'm so happy your visit went so well and that your mind is now at ease as far as where he's at etc.. Sounds like his place is pretty decent. Are all camps like this you guys?? Sounds much more humane!

Yea it was great..I think all camps are this way..BUT>> the inmates here know this is their only chance to live this way so they know if they do escape they will have no choice but to go to the big house and the next closes camp is in tennesse. My boyfriend has nothing on his record really besides some dui's and thefts from his teenage years so they were very nice to let him come to the camp!

My son had NOTHING on his record, he had NO record before his current offense. I don't understand how he got almost 3 years in a max. sec. facility. Justice? HA!!

sorry if that sounded rude, I didn't mean it to, I'm just disgusted with the justice system. I'm really glad your visit went well.

Yea I would be saying the same thing if I were you..I am still upset he will be gone that long but I know he was very lucky to get what he got. Our judge was pretty nice and understanding I think.

Susan it being a camp is very different from a FCI or USP. It is amazing, I have a Friend who is in the camp at leavenworth and he had a cell phone for almost 3 years before he got caught with it. Now if you go accross the street to leavenworth USP you will find the difference between day and night. I have another friend who is in the USP accross the street, he tells me the guys come over there from the camp to do some work and they all look scared half to death, because they live so different in the camp then at the USP.

Casey I am happy that you had a wonderful visit.

That is toooo funny cause my man was just saying that everyone has cell phones and one guy just got busted with one I guess the gaurds like to be the "one" to find it..i think they make a game of it..lol Although they will send you away to another camp or to the big house so its really not worth it.

Your right Kaycee they are in the process of transferring him out because of it. he even says it isn't worth it.

Btw- They don't just look scared half to death...THEY ARE...lol I know the one guy that just got sent in on monday the 23rd was like "WHAT?, I GOTTA GO TO THE BIG HOUSE FIRST?" I was like yea but you are seprate from "those guys" lol My man had to go over and make sandwiches but he hasn't been around any of the inmates because they were locked down so they wern't to much of a threat. But he never wants to experience one day in their life compared to his.

Glad you had a good time. I always have "fun" when I visit my man (he's in low security). I just have a question about the cell phones. How do they get them? My guy asked my to look into MP3 players for him cause he's in desperate need of some 2Pac. I want to do anything to make his stay there easier, the only thing that I'm worried about is if he ended up losing his visiting privileges or I get taken off his visiting list. Any suggestions?

Well, getting them in isn't hard at the camp..but I would never risk it because they will ship his ass out real quick and its already bad enough I have to drive 2 hours so any more of a drive will make me nuts!! lol So I think if I were you I would say forget the mp3 player.. tupac isn't worth your visitation and I am sure he will agree (not tupac..lol)

my man recently got transferred to USP in Pollock Louisiana from USP in Leavenworth, I write to several guys there, you're fine as long as you mind your own business and don't go into debt for things you can't afford..My Joe is str8 up HARDCORE, so I don't worry too much.. but still worry a little, ya know.. He was in Leavenworth for about 6 years,,,, I'm so happy for you that your visit went well.....

I have a question that I need an answer to... Is the Leavenworth USP the same place that military convicts get sent to? This is so new to me.. Any info is appreciated?

Hi Kaycee420! My husband is waiting in a county jail before he goes to Fed. He was sentenced two weeks ago and was not able to self surrender, which I still don't understand, but anyway, I am hoping my husband gets to go to Leavenworth camp. It would be a 4 hour drive for me, but Iam going to law school in the fall and could go to Lawrence, which would be perfect! So, I will let you know when we find out where he is going. I am glad your man is doing good.
