can any1 help im trying to locate a friend held by imigration,i went to the imigration web site with no luck.

Welcome to PTO! I'm sorry, but I don't have an answer for you. Do they have a phone number that you can call on Monday and hopefully get some answers as to where your friend is being held? What about calling your local law enforcement and asking them if they have any ideas for who you can contact to find this information? I'm hoping that someone comes along who has more answers for you, but this may give you a start. If it were me, I would call my local law enforcement and start there.....

Zoosst, I notice you're in NYC so there should be a (and actually probably more than one since NYC is so large) local office for the INS in the metro area there, in fact I would imagine there's probably branch offices in every borough. Check the listings in your phone book, if there's a separate section for City/County, State and Federal agencies (I know there is in mine) it'll be in there under the Federal section.

If that doesn't work, let us know and I'll check around some more...

most INS detainee's are held in federal institutions. If you still cannot locate them, they may be in a county jail. LEt me know if you have any luck.
