Was wondering if anyone had any info on 2 federal prisons in Colorado. One in Florence and the other in Englewood. My friend will be sentenced in July, probably 3-4 yrs. He wanted to request to be down in Florence to be closer to his family but he now has heard some horror stories about that facility. I know that in the Federal system he very well could be placed anywhere in the country. Just trying to get some info to help calm his nerves. He was also inquiring about maybe some federal facilities in neighboring states to Colorado.

Florence is a maximum security facility, & is where they have the federal version of the SHU. Unless he's a really bad guy, he'll be sent to Florence.

I beleive that he wants info on FCI Florence since it offers the drug rehab program RDAP. FCI Englewood offers it too. Does any one have any loved ones located at these facilities that could share a little insite? Thanks.

I sent you back a PM, sorry it took awhile. Florence is not horrendous, at least the FCI facility is not. My husband has been here for over 10 years.
