Be silly about the studying, if that makes sense. If I would do cheesy things to remember things, and say them outloud, I would remember it better. I might giggle during the exam, but who cares if those giggles get you the grade!??!

OR... some of the science stuff, I was involved with a girl scout troop at the time. I would do demo things for them and then I would learn it by demo. You have a little one. Educate her! LOL!

I could ramble on and on.

I'm a dork.

Do not study the night before. I NEVER retain knowledge the night before a test. Also get a good nights sleep.

I teach a medical class and I think nothing beats flash cards for teminology and anatomy. Make piles and mix them up and sort them and go over and over them til they are familiar. Even take them with you so if you get stuck waiting at an appointment or waiting for the kiddo you can spend 5 minutes practicing. The brain learns much beter when you incorporate different learning techniques so using pictures, color and sound can make a big difference for a lot of people. Try studying for several shorter time periods rather one long stretch; use visuals - diagrams ect; use highlighters to color code things; say things out loud as you learn them, teach someone else - even your little one - they might not understand but it reinforces what you are learning and they will think you are really interested in them. lol There is a book called "The Anatomy Coloring Book" that is really helpful. It saved my life when I took anatomy and I use it with my students. Statistics show that you should trust your first answer - most of the time when people change their answers they change to the wrong one. Use other info in the test to help you remember stuff so if you see a different question it might trigger a memory for another answer. Hope you like anatomy and physiology - they are my favorites - Good luck
