Check with the Inmate Family Council there for information. You can reach Marie Wallach at tovakitty@msn.com. She's the Chairperson, and can give you information...

When I Use To Visit Their I Never Had Any Problems The Only Are Very Strict With The Way You Dress So Make Sure That You Dont Wear Any Blue..

take an extra pair of clothes just in case, they are very strict with the dresscode and will send you back to change. you cannot wear cargo pants [khaki, green, black] or denim clothing. there is a separate line for ad-seg and they will not let you visit without an appt. first [like a week before ,you have to call], get there early.

My experience over at Donovan wasn't all that bad except having to wait and get processed through. But in the end it is all worth it.If your love one is in RECEPTION CENTER.Reception is a NON-CONTACT window booth it's an hour visitation. Make sure you have made an appoitment one week in advanced. If you don't have an appointment they won't let you in. But there is ONE C.O that is overall very friendly and will let you in someway somehow. His name is J.Hernandez so look out for him :). Also thier dress code is VERY STRICT. Just make sure that your shirt is one size bigger because if it's too short or too tight they will make you lift your arms up and if they see just a tiny bit of your skin they will make you change it.

You can wear all black. But no other ONE SOLID COLOR
NO WHITE T-SHIRTS...NO GRAY EITHER (unless it has a really big LOGO on the front and back)
NO DENIMN (Regardless of color)
NO CARGO PANTS (Regardless of color)
NO BEIGE/BLUE/ORANGE/GREEN...(any color that resembles inmates clothing and C.O's)
NO THONG SANDLES! ***Very important*** NO UNDERWIRE BRA'S because it will not clear the metal detector (that's one of the things that I always see when visiting over at Donovan..Many women always get turned away because of thier underwire bra's)

You can bring $30.00 (In one dollar bills and coins only)
Make sure you have an I.D with a photograph and you can have 2 kings on a ring with no other attacthments.

Just get there about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour early.

Other than that make sure you bring extra clothing in the car just incase you get turned away. But they do have clothes over at the Su-Casa parking lot trailor (They are very "ugh" looking though) And most of all HAVE FUN!

Hi There,
My fiancee was just sent down the river by his attorny and sentenced to 17 years  at state prison for alleged securities violations and two counts of burglary (for seeing his clients at their homes). He was at Bailey for a while then South Bay then Bialey and was sent to Donavan the 6th of sept. I have had a letter from him already but no forms and no calls. Obvious;y we are appealing but in the mean time we really have to make the best of it. It is very nice to know that we are not alone. Can anyone just give me the basic run thru about what to expect?! I just read about a guard raping an inmate there and now I am terrified. My husbands crime(if any) was white collar - will he do "hard time" and most importantly we are to be married March 2nd of 2006 - can I still marry him?! My heart goes out to each and everyone of you. Thank you for being out there.

Hi There, I am having a little trouble navigating around to find my posts and replies but I am grateful to be here. It's a trying time to say the least...I expect everyone else out there is going though the same thing...KC and I have been trying to get married for years but everytime we set a date something happends...Not this time!:D I accidently sent him a money order with his county # on it...will he get it?! What else can I send? Does anyone know if they are still doing family (conjugal) visits or have they cut that out too?

New memebr here. This is my 3rd post. I'm formally a resident of the R.J. Donovan Facility in san diego, Relocaed to CDC residency in 1992 and been out since sept 2003. (all 1 stretch) waiting on board to either approve or deny my P.O.'s request for discharge. Got my fingers, toes, eyes stomach all crossed. HEHEHEHE. Any how if anyone has questions on how the system inside is I may be able to answer some questions. I started out as a level IV Inmate and worked my way down to a level I. Been everywhere from the opening of Calipatria to being a part of the Inmate Firefighter Crew from Donovan who responded to the Fallbrooks Fires. Enough about me. Any questions feel free to ask either here or email me at ff2moe@gmail.com

Hi There!
You seem to be an answer to a prayer. My husband was just sentenced to 17 years...for a white collar crime! Anyway he is in level 4 intake because of the amount of time sentenced...what should we do?! He wants to be classified obviously as a 1,2 or 3 at worst....he has 16 years in the Navy also and desperately wants to be in a camp so he can make it home to the kids...PLEASE tell me what to tell him kcbizconsult@yahoo.com I do have trouble relocating my posts....
