Be aware that family members or friends may be required to be billed directly by MCI if their bill for inmate calling exceeds $100.00 in any month.
Starting in September 2005 if a family member or friend receiving MCI carried collect calls reaches $100.00 in collect calling during any month, they may be contacted via automated message to establish a direct billing account with MCI.
Failure to establish the direct billing account with MCI within a reasonable amount of time will result in a block being placed on the telephone number until an agreement is established.
If any individual you call meets the $100.00 per month level or may reach the $100.00 per month level, MCI recommends that they contact MCI customer service now to set up a direct billing account and avoid any potential blocking of calls. (See number 877-873-8567)
Please share the above information with your family/friends. If they would like to set up a direct billing account now- please have them contact MCI at the number.
