Hi my name is Rebecca and my boyfriend is on parole and I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. My boyfriends parole county is 200 miles from where I live. He recently got out of prison in June and he has been staying with me but every month we go to his parole officer and check in. He has a job out here where I live and we have put in a transfer to get him transferred out here before he even got out of prison. Every month we ask about his transfer and they tell us that sacramento has approved it and now they are just waiting for my county to approve it. Well last month his parole officer has started harassing him. When we went in on sept 1st to check in his parole officer took him into custody just because. He came out and told me it was because I lied about where he lived at....but he told my boyfriend that he is just holding him for 72 hours and he really has no reason why to keep him. My boyfriend is doing really good, he has a job, but we cant tell his paole officer that because then he will no he is out of his 50 mile radius. We are trying to take the right stpes to get him transferred but its taking a long time. Now his parole officer starts harassing him 2 days before he is supposed to check in. Im just wondering if there is any way we can do something about his transfer and his p.os harrassment?
Thanks Rebecca

Hi RebeccaI dont know if this is going to answer your question, but I can tell you this, if your boyfriend is reporting to the barstow/victorville parole office that wont help matters at all. that office is a nightmare! the other thing is that california is very bad with their paperwork on transfers either inside or outside of prison. as far as your boyfriend getting harassed by his P.O. he can always go to the P.O. supervisor. the supervisor is most likely to listen to the problems and hopefully corect them. like i said the victorville/barstow parole agents are nothing nice! the other thing i would try to do is contact Sacramento yourself to make sure that they did in fact approve it. honestly it should not even be a county issue anymore, only state. it should be a matter of one officer calling the other with little to no paperwork, because its the same state. also i think that you can file a California 602 on the P.O. for harassment?i hope this answers your question somewhat.
