I am new to this and need info on prison system,receiving (how long) what can be mailed, commissarry company, basicly all about the inside of the prison life for my friend.

You can get all that and more in the California Forum. High Desert is a popular place! He should be in receiving about a month, more or less. When he gets to mainline, he'll know what kind of quarterly packages he qualifies for, and he can send you info on the companies available. I prefer PackagesRUs, personally.
