Prison Talk Online's discussion forum software has a powerful search engine built in. You can search for words, phrases and just about anything else.. Search by user's posts etc..
Just to check it out, you might want to go look at a post someplace within the site.. Pick out a key word from within the text of the post, then go to the "search" section located on the gray line just under the Prison Talk Online banner at the top of every page.. Type in the key word or phrase and start the search.. It will pick out that post and all others that have these words..
So, if you are looking for posts that have "North Carolina" mentioned in them.. Just type "North Carolina" into the search. You will end up with a listing of all the posts mentioning "North Carolina" anyplace within the subject or body of the post..
No matter how structured we may try to be with different forums for different topics, there are going to be posts on certain topics not in the most relevant forum. Using the SEARCH function will deliver to you related content throughout the entire site.. As PTO grows, so will the amount of Data/Resources available to everyone.
It should be noted (and I will dedicate a post to this soon) that the default page viewing age is 100 days. After that period you will not automatically see posts that were made and have not been responded to in over 100 days. YOU can change this in your setup or within each page..
*When searching PTO the age of the post does not matter, it will pull up all posts, of any age, unless you tell the search engine to do otherwise..
There are a number of parameters you can set to narrow down searching also..
Please give it a try! You never know what you might find..
