Okay, being a philosophy major, I took some really oddly named classes. Anarchy, Philosophy of God, The Lack of Ethics in America, and Do I Exist? were a few of the names of the courses. :)

I also got to take "Billards for Boozers" which was my PE credit, and it was after 5pm and we got to drink in the pool hall while we played pool as our class.

:)

So what about you?? :)

When I was an undergrad, I minored in Philosophy. I needed one last class for my minor and the only class that worked with my schedule was this class called Phenomenology & Epistemology!

What the heck was I thinking?!?!?! Not only could I barely pronounce the words, I sure as heck had no clue what they even meant! I went through the whole semester not knowing "Who I was", "Where I was" or "If life just a dream"; but somehow I got a B...YEAH!!!

Here are the meanings of those words for the inquiring minds!:D

Phenomenology is the study of structures of consciousness as experienced from the first-person point of view. The central structure of an experience is its intentionality, its being directed toward something, as it is an experience of or about some object. An experience is directed toward an object by virtue of its content or meaning (which represents the object) together with appropriate enabling conditions.

Epistemology is the branch of philosophy (http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/PHILOSI.html) that studies knowledge. It attempts to answer the basic question: what distinguishes true (adequate) knowledge (http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/KNOW.html) from false (inadequate) knowledge? Am I really here?

There are still days I walk around asking myself those very same questions!:)

Sociology of the Internet. It's a fascinating topic, but the class was a little strange.

I took an 'out-of-body experience' class and an 'astral projection' class (non-credit of course!) years (and years....:D ) ago.

I guess my oddest class was none too unusual, but somewhat embarassing at the age I was at the time. I took a basic introductory college art class in which we spent the semester drawing with live nude models in the classroom. Needless to say, I'm an awesome nude artist now! :D

I would be very intrigued by such classes! Seriously. Tell me, were you ever able to have such an experience? I know someone who I really believe has done such a thing - and usually I'm somewhat skeptical, but I do have a bit of proof in the matter that makes it seem that she really did.

I tell my fiance to watch out, because one of these days I'll be there watching his every move - that I'm going to master doing out of body experiences and spend my free time with him there. *hee hee* In my dreams - I'd rather it be so that he knew I was with him of course.

I do believe that people can have out-of-body experiences. I did not actually experience one during that class but I have read quite a few books since then which were very helpful.

Took a fabulous class - "Southeast Asian Folklore". It was taught by a Burmese man who was the Minister of Education, and an aristocrat of his country. Very dry man, but listening to him was fascinating - the whole history of early development of the region, the religions and the absolutely wonderful folk tales. And he ALWAYS referred to elephants and crocodiles as he or she. Very important.

Corrections in America class

I'm taking Corrections this semester and am very interested in learning as much as I can about it.

The most strangest class I have taken this year was called A Walk on the Wild Side. We discussed sexual deviance basically. Our main focus was swingers, nudists, exotic dancers, cyberporn, and transgender/transsexual. It was definitely a class I will never ever forget!!!
