I want to know if I can send stamps and maybe a couple of sheets of paper to my husband at Wasco. He just got there 4 days ago.
Also does anyone know if they are allowed one initial visit with having to be approved?

You can send up to 20 embossed envelopes from the post office, but no stamps, or hand stamped envelopes. You can send paper, but not with a cardboard backing or a spiral binding. I read somewhere 25 or 50 sheets. I didn't count mine, just ripped some off. Worst case, he bums some paper if they don't give it to him because I sent 54 sheets instead of 50. I dunno!
My husband just got there on the 17th, and I sent him that stuff. Looks like he got it alright, because the letter I just received was on big paper, not little like his others!! And it was finely perforated down the side, so I think it's the stuff I sent. Next time I ought to mark the corners somehow, just so I know it's what I sent him!! Just for curiosity's sake.

My boyfriend is at Wasco also. He has been there since the 8th. It seems like the mail there is really slow. It took two weeks for him to get my first and second letter to him. Have you had trouble with the mail getting to him?

You can also send them computer print outs of different things as well. I have sent my friend picture print out to draw for me and also lyrics to songs. just different stuff like that.

I sent my first letter to him on Thursday, the 18th I think. I sent a big package on Friday, and another letter. (The package was paper, envelopes, puzzles, and all the letters I'd been saving between his transfer from county and being able to find him). He wrote me on Thursday, the 25th, the day he got it all. So.....it basically took a week to get to him. The package I sent Priority Mail. The letter on Thursday and Friday I sent regular mail.
I got his letter dated the 25th on Monday the 29th, so it's not so bad, really. I thought it would be worse.

You can send a pad of writing paper. They cannot recieve stamps but you can send 10 prestamped envelopes in each letter. You can get these at the post office.

I went to puzzlemaker.school.discovery.com and made up my own. He said the word search was a pain in the ass!! I put lots of words, and when you crossed out the words, the remaining letters spelled the answer to the puzzle title. ("What I love about you" - then the answer was "everything")
He liked finding the answer, even though he said the puzzle was a pain!!
I need to do something like that again.
