I hate to see anyone go without any mail at all... As for online searches for Collins Bay there is not much info. It seems that way for all of canada's federal penns.... I will search it out and see if I can find any info for you.... I know I have drove by there and its is beautiful..... frankadrian 12-12-2005, 06:55 PM I did a little time in the Bay, don't know if I can help but if you ask I'll do what I can for my Bros up there, it's good that you're writin to someone there, cause there's a lot of lonley people around there, there's not a lot published on the Bay, just mostly photos and article about Rosie...Take care witchlinblue 12-12-2005, 09:32 PM Anything you would like to share about that faculity would be very appreciated. DEE robbreid 06-26-2007, 01:37 PM http://www.csc-scc.gc.ca/text/facilit/institutprofiles/collinsbay_e.shtml Collins Bay has always been known as one of the few serious prisons in Canada. Known to inmates as "The Bay", and "Gladiator School", as knife fights, and fights were common. It is a Medium-High security prison, most inmates that pass thru The Bay, are what you would call Solid. If you were in camp, and learned an inmate had arrived via The Bay, you would certainly take note! For afew years, there has been major construction going on, renovating the entire place, about 4 years ago they transferred the bulk of the 500 inmates to Joyceville. That has left a population in the Bay for the last few years at around less than 200. So they have had the run of the place. As far as doing life in Canada, you start in a Max and work your way down. In year 15, you certainly don't want to still be in a Medium-High. That tells me he has a long way to go still. You'll have to drop to a low-medium = Bath, or Fenbrook, spend afew years and make it to camp. However, with that said, Frontenac http://www.csc-scc.gc.ca/text/facilit/institutprofiles/frontenac_e.shtml is a farm (Camp) that is just outside the walls of Collins Bay. It is very possible for your friend to get transferred to Frontenac, which remains the best Prison by far in Ontario. As he knows it all takes time, but from a solid inmate point of view, Collins Bay is a "solid joint" to do time. http://www.csc-scc.gc.ca/text/releases/ont/index_e.shtml As you can see from the media releases, Ontario prisons aren't any where near as violent as they once were.
