I stay so tired all of the time. What can I do to boost my energy? What's safe? My batteries are completely drained and no amount of sleep seems to help.

Please, any suggestions??

I deal with that also. You need a good scheduel. Balance sleep and mild exercize. I like to hike with my dogs. Eat properly and 5-6 small meals aday. And if you can follow the above advice my doctor gave me, let me know how you do it. I cant follow it. Ha ha ha ha. But, in all seriousness. When I do eat right, sleep no more and no less than I need and get a little exercize everyday, I feel much better.

MY SISTER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CHRONIC FATIGUE AND SHE HAD IT FOR QUITE AWHILE...SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO GET PLENTY OF SLEEP, TAKE EXTRA VITAMIN C, AVOID STRESS (HA! HA!), NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, EAT BALANCED MEALS AND EAT AT LEAST 6 SMALL MEALS A DAY, AND LIMITED SUGAR INTAKE. SHE TOOK SOME OTHER VITAMINS, TOO, NOT SURE WHAT. SHE WAS NOT TO PUSH HERSELF AND TO USE HER ENERGY FOR THE NEEDED ACTIVITIES. SHE COULD NOT WORK AT ALL. SHE WENT TO SCHOOL BUT WITH FEW CREDITS A SEMESTER. SHE WAS ALWAYS TIRED. I AM SURE THIS IS NOT DIFFERENT THAN WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DOC TOLD HER IT WAS A VIRUS AND IT HAD TO RUN ITS COURSE. SHE DID FINALLY GET BETTER AND FELT BETTER BUT IT TOOK TIME!! :(

I FORGOT SOME EXERCISE, TOO, ESPECIALLY OUTSIDE~SUNSHINE HELPS!

I take a good regime of vitamins, herbs and supplements.....I take a good multi vitamin, extra Calcium with Vitamin D and a soy based product rather than estrogen (I had a hysterectomy). I also eat lots of spinach.

These have helped me tremendously.

Monica,

You have some good advice here - the best with HepC is to balance the diet with as much whole food as possible and small meals more often. Stay away from all packaged and processed food - sugar - coffee - alcohol...

Vitamins are good but make sure that you are not taking one with iron in it. Herbs are not necessarily recommended here because again anything like that is filtered by the liver.

Balance the meals and make sure that exercise is a part of your day.

OOPS.....Teb you are right.......I was thinking about chronic fatigue, but NOT thinking about the HEP C when I posted what I do..... It is important to use as many natural foods as you can find and afford. If you aren't sure of what to use, check out some health and/or organic magazines.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and was diagnosed about 15yrs. ago. When it was at it's worst, about the first 3-4yrs, I tried everything and went to doctor after doctor and nothing seemed to help. It really had to run it's course and now I'm told it's in re-mission. The above advice is good. I hope your fatigue passes soon.

Monica,

I don't dismiss the fact that you are feeling really tired now, but also I want to think that since you just received this diagnosis that some of it may be the shock of the diagnosis... Your mind can play games with your overall physical feeling too... Exercise is great for the mind - make sure that you get plenty of sun and fresh air and keep as busy as you can. We have to get your mind in a good place - I know that is really difficult right now but it will help.

Keep strong and know that we love you!
