Well I did everything I thought I was supposed to do in order to go see my dear friend next Friday. I have sat on the phone since five minutes till 8, and have mastered hitting redial. I finally got through they asked me his number and then promptly told me there was nothing available.
What the heck does that mean, this man hasn't had a visitor in over six years, and now there is nothing available.
Is there anything I can do to ensure I get in next weekend.
I am wondering if it is because it is labor day weekend or is it always like this? I am now sitting here in tears wondering how to pull off this miricle so I can finally hug him
I just don't know what to do.
Any suggestions. I mean it is over 400 miles away so it is not just something I can do without trying to plan it.
I am just so upset there are not even words to express it.

Awh sweetie...I wish I had some advice for you but I don't, I don't know how all of that works..I'm sure someone will be along soon that can help you out.

Try and stay positive..I know it's disappointing.

What they probably meant was their were no more appts. available. Sometimes it happens. They can only make so many if they are an appt only prison. When they fill the visiting rooms, they don't make anymore appts. All you can do is keep trying until you get one, then make your plans for that day.

Sorry, just wanted to wish you alot of luck for the next go around. Perhaps there is another way. Is there anyway a written request can get you an appointment time and date in the future?

Aww, hun, I FEEl your frustration... my guy's prison supposedly takes appointments... yeah right!

My redial finger is worn out, his mom came to see him from out of state after 3 years of not seeing him, and we tried calling for 2 weeks straight and could not get an appt.

I dont know the SQ rules, but I sure hope you get in next time... (((hugs)))

I haven't been to SQ, but I believe it means they can only make so many appointments and when those are filled they don't make anymore. I am sure they are so busy because of Labor Day holiday.

I do believe I read some where when the appointsments are full thats it.

We have a very helpful member who's husband is at SQ and she will know if there is anything you can do. I will tell her about this thread.

okay. first of all if youre over 400 miles away, you can write in a request up to 60 days before you attempt to visit, but no less than 30 days. tell them you are coming from a far distance and let them know the days you are coming and they can try and schedule you for that weekend.
im here to tell ya, thursdays and fridays are almost impossible to get. this is only because there are not that many visiting slots open on those days, so they fill up very quickly, first come first serve, so by the time you got thru all the visiting slots were full. if youre trying to come for labor day, call in between 8 and 10 am 7 days in advance of the day you are coming. so if you wanna go nest sunday,call tomorrow to schedule it, and when youre booking the appt. tell them youre coming from over 400 miles and see what your options are. i know that busy signal is irritating but its worth it when you get to hug your loved one. need any adivce, pm me and ill try to help.

Thankl you all for your advice. I managed to get through this morning and next Saturday at 8am I will be hugging him close. I also am going to go ahead and write the request for next month and keep my fingers crossed so I acn see him both Fri and Sat.
