Hopefully someone will come along with some information for you. :) Jade01 09-15-2005, 01:20 PM Shadmatt - I just found some info that might be helpful to you. Here is a link to Federal Bureau of Prisons Webpage: www.bop.gov If you go to the Facility Locator page and type in Arkansas, it comes up with Forrest City Low and Medium: http://www.bop.gov/DataSource/execute/dsFacilityLoc It looks as if the visiting info is only listed for Forrest City Low Facility: http://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/for/FOR_visit_hours.pdf Hope all the links help! :) messy3jop 09-17-2005, 10:03 AM I have been to see my husband there a few times. It is not that bad. You can't sit next to them and you have to eat in a totally different room but other than that it is clean and stuff. They have a patio and a childrens room but they don't let anyone go in them. I really wish we could do something about that. It usually takes about a week or two to get approved after you send them your visiting form and your man will be the one to have to tell you whether or not you are approved. I hope this has helped. sterea 10-14-2006, 02:40 AM Does any one have information on a hospitality organization such as a religion group that offers a place to stay if we are traveling over 20 hours? This would really help since it is an extreme expense to travel this far including, meals, hotel, travel, and other expenses. sterea 10-21-2006, 05:13 AM Does anyone have any suggestions traveling to Forrest City in reference to flying or driving. This trip will be about 18 hours to be exact. I'm trying to find the most efficient way to get there. ittybittykitty 10-21-2006, 09:27 AM I am from NW Arkansas and I personally don't know much about the Forrest City area, you might try calling the chamber of commerce and asking for information about hospitality organizations that might help in your overnight stay.Good Luck... My fiance is at forrest city in the low complex . They have visiting every weekend and on MOndays . At the low facility you are allowed to sit by the inmate and you are allowed to get things for him to eat as well as yourself .He is not allowed to go to the vending machines you with . The only time he is allowed to get up is when they do count or if he has to go to the rest room when they do the restroom call .. You get a brief hug and kiss at the beginning of the visit and at the end of the visit . If you have any other questions please feel free to send me a message .. Cassy |
