what does DC mean for men on DR in FL?What kind of punishment is that?
What is the HOLE?
What is that like?
Does DC mean being in the HOLE? And if so can they still write letters?
And how long is it for?

Hi, I can't answer all your questions, but the hole is lock up/solitary/the box. They get sent there if they get a disciplinary for something ie: dirty urine test, fighting etc and in Florida they will get 60 days for a dirty urine for example. What it is like depends on the facility and state. They can write letters and receive them, but can't have books or magazines, no phone calls or visits. The hole is no picnic...right now in Florida I have someone I know who is in the hole and it's so hot he lies on the concrete floor until night time when he writes to me.
Just wondering if DC means Disciplinary Confinement ??

Thanks for your reply. So, in Fl it is not air-conditoned nor can they have a fan? And do you know how large the hole is. I know the DR cell is 7x9

No fans and no air con....... When he was writing me last week he said he had sweat dripping down his face and would pay $10 for a cold glass of water....it's HOT in there right now.....Don't know the exact size of the hole...I can ask him if you like, although he is not on d/row.

DC usually means Disciplinary Confinement. The hole means the same thing, basically when they're written up for something like was already posted, its no visits, no television (in DR), etc.

These days UCI is so full that the DC wing has been converted for regular DR guys. Normally, the inmate would be moved to a DC wing where there is no tv, radio and limited personal property. And one of my foavorites, the lights are controlled by the CO's. So they sleep with socks wrapped around their faces.
None of the DR guys have a/c and only fans in the last year.

Right now, if you get written up, you are serving you DC in your regular cell. Kinda like being grounded.

There is a level beyond DC where you get feed "the loaf". More likely at FSP. For the CM guys there is a special wing that takes sensory depravation to a new level, but DR isn't susposed to go there...

my man was in dc a few weeks ago because of his stupid exwife, she said that he was posting "penpal ads on the internet" so he got FIFTEEN DAYS, for something that wasn't true. it makes me so incredibly angry. yeah the light switch thing is a huge deal, its funny how one little switch can make allllll the difference in the world.

I spent alot of time in lock up in Raiford.Out of my 9 yrs. I did over 5 at the Rock.I spent 2 of those in solitary all at once. Many times for 30-60 days.Raiford is hot.DC was even hotter.Lights on all the time.Smells like urin, etc. And Raiford was always very very loud.Showres were once a week for three minutes. No T.V. no music,no books,no yard.I saw alot of men loose their minds there.
