Hi Everyone!

Wow, I have just read 'Prison 101' by Edward Charles.

If you 'really' want to know what your husband or boyfriend has to deal with, both before and after entering prison, read this entire page.

The page is here: http://www.wild-side.com/darksorrow/prison101.html

I thought dealing with my honey's absence is hard! Wow, now I guess I have some insight as to what he will be having to deal in prison aside from losing his freedom!

This webpage explains alot of things when you are 'on your way to prison'. I found it today when I was searching for answers I had about mine & my ol' man's dilemma we have to deal with for the next 2 years. Yeesh! It's unbelievable!

Wow, that was a good site. I have been lost reading it for a couple hours now. Hey, did you read the one story written by the death row guy as a tribute to his pen pal who died of cancer? Excellent story, here is the link.

flygirlaa2-

wow- thanks for sharing that! That helps to show just how important our letters can be! Now I have a better perspective of what to write to my ol' man. I read a post somewhere on PTO in which a woman says she writes about the smells, sights, scents, etc. that she experiences while taking walks, etc. That's where I'm taking my ol' man! At least it will be one way to get him out of 'there' and 'here' with me!

To really fill anyone in on how to deal with being down, there should be a way to connect those on the inside with those about to be. Is there any such program, or is this idea totally unrealistic?

Linda-

I have been searching high & low for such a program but that site is the only info I have found so far. There is a sight that is helping me to understand what my ol' man is going through 'in' there and what his mental state will be when he gets out. I guess this service is actually helping to educate others to educate prisoners to become better people. It may be a 'doorway' to finding out about more programs.

Well that just scared the crap out of me... I am getting ready to go to Federal Prison in 2 weeks or less. Granted it is just a camp or minimum security. I have 10 months and I hope I don't have the same experences the writer did. I just want to do my time, read 100 books, work-out and lose weight for my girlfriend, and thats it. I would be happy if I didn't speak to a single person while I am in there, because I don't have to remember the time I will spend in prison. Once I am out I can forget it all. I have that ability and I will use it. I don't want to learn anything while I am in there, because I will not want to remember anything when I am out. I am rambling...
