View Full Version : Project release date
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-14-2002, 12:07 AM Ok, this would be a good post for FED X to respond to.
I just checked the BOP inmate locator to see if the projected release date was posted for my fiance.
Guess what... March 11, 2003. :(
Now, before I start freaking out and crying... is that including any CCC (1/2 way house) time? He has a good chance at 6 mos, I just mailed his TEAM documents today.
SO... is that date the date he's transferred to a house or is that the date he's totally out of the Fed's hands and in mine?
I'm gonna be a chain-smokin nervous wreck until I hear from him now.

sherri13 05-14-2002, 10:08 AM FED-X--THIS GIRL NEEDS YOUR HELP ASAP!!!
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-14-2002, 10:20 AM Sherri -
U don't know the half of it! I called the Records office at Lompoc to see if I could get the info but it's not available under the FOIA.
I know he doesn't know that I know his projected release date. I'm just suprised that if he went to the Team & knows the date & 1/2way house situtation, he didn't call. He ALWAYS calls when he hears something. Even if it's speculation!
This is the time it's hard for me. I've just got a feeling that something is not right and he doesn't have good news so he's not calling.
Why can't Todd have a little red phone in his cell (like batman has to Commissioner Gordon) so we can call in times like this? That would be sooooooo much more convenient! lol
Carla
sherri13 05-14-2002, 10:49 AM HEY, WE CAN PROPOSE THE RED PHONE IDEA, BUT SOMEHOW I DONT THINK THEY'LL BUY IT....
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-14-2002, 11:49 AM K, then we'll make it black, it should go well with the grey decorum of the bars.
Fed-X 05-14-2002, 01:19 PM The date listed via the BOP is his FINAL OUT DATE..
Go take a look at my release date.
David Frisk
Reg No. 87584-079
It shows my release date as March 26, 2002.
NOW.. If that was the case PTO would just now be coming on line! :) The actual date I was released from prison to the 1/2 way house was Sept. 28, 2001. Almost 6 months prior to the date it shows.. SO.. Never Fear.. Subtract 6 months from the release date..
That does not guarantee that he will get the full six months, but they shoot for it.. I was 2 days shy of the full 6 months..
The reasoning behind this date being shown is that I was still technically in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons until my full release date. 1/2 way house is a priv., not a right.. And if you run away from the 1/2 Way house you get the same escape charge as you do from escaping from prison. That is a fact.. I have friends that left and now have 3 more years to do in prison.. One of them only had 12 days left! Idiot..
Hope this helps..
David
Fed-X 05-14-2002, 01:23 PM Carla,
He will know exactly when his proposed release date is. You go to a pre-release class when you are less than a year out from release. Also, he will know if he is elligible for 1/2 way house. He may not be if he has gotten into a lot of trouble, has HIV, or his charge prevents it.. But his Unit Team will tell him all of this well in advance. Why wouuld he not tell you?

CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-14-2002, 01:46 PM David -
THANK GAWD u answered! you would've thought I heard from Todd himself! lol
When he first arrived at Lompoc, he explained to the counselor about wanting halfway house. He IS eligible and she did give him the form to fill out. (He wants to go to Bakersfield which is 1 hr away).
So now the only left thing that HE has to tell me is if he did get the 6 mos 1/2 way (or how long). That would put him in Bakersfield around September. Right? :D
He's a good boy inside (wish he was outside) & pretty much keeps to himself. He does have a few ppl that he hangs with that he knew when he was at Safford. So, I don't think I need to worry about his eligibility being in question or revoked.
What's the best case scenario time wise? Transferred to a house then released for home from the house.
Thanks David!
Carla
Fed-X 05-14-2002, 01:54 PM Best case scenario is usually 6 months from his actual release date. There may be other circumstances I don't know about but that is usually how it is done. So, take 6 months off your 300 Days, 12 Hours, 6 minutes & 5 Seconds (currently shown on your counter) :)
David
BTW.. Lots of inmates don't like to talk about getting 1/2 way hourse, etc.. because they are afraid of jinxing themselves on it.. Especially don't want to let down family and friends waiting for them.. JFYI..
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-14-2002, 05:17 PM Thanks, David!
Todd has already said that he didn't want to bring up the 1/2way house because he didn't want to get my or his hopes up! He said he would tell me when he knew for sure. Do you guys get anything in writing stating the date?
Carla
soraya 05-15-2002, 04:31 AM David, you're a great help!! as always
CREAMYALMONDZ 05-15-2002, 06:37 AM Does anyone who is released from jail have to go to a halfway house?
soraya 05-15-2002, 06:59 AM I'm not sure, but all the guys I know that are being released go to a halfway house first....this also helps them or gives them time to find a job and all that
jdswifey02 05-15-2002, 01:21 PM Leonda... the halfway house thing probably depends on the system... I know here in IL not all guys have to do halfway house time.... As long as they have a "stable" environment to parole too with support that DOC deems "adequate".... Halfway houses are generally only used here for those guys who don't have anyone on the outside and don't have anywhere to go... or for the guys who may have people on the outside, but DOC doesn't feel the environment in "appropriate"... I had several guys who had family who lived in the projects, and DOC wouldn't approve them paroling there....
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-15-2002, 03:42 PM Fortunately, neither are applicable in Todd's case. He's got his family (the girls & I) and we live in a beautiful house in an awesome neighborhood.
It's used as a transitioning tool. It's exactly what it is. HALFWAY. It gives the men/women a chance to start over and adjust to being outside before they go home. They are required to find work & pay for their share of the house.
From the BOP website: (CCC=Community Custody Center)
"CCCs provide an excellent transitional environment for inmates nearing the end of their sentences. The level of structure and supervision assures accountability and program opportunities in employment counseling and placement, substance abuse, and daily life skills.
One reason for referring an inmate to a CCC is to increase public protection by aiding the transition of the offender into the community. Participating in community-based transitional services may reduce the likelihood of an inmate with limited resources from recidivating, whereas an inmate who is released directly from the institution to the community may return to a criminal lifestyle. While clearly dangerous inmates should be separated from the community until completing their sentences, other eligible inmates should generally be referred to CCCs to maximize the chances of successful reintegration into society."
Hope this helps! :)

CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-15-2002, 03:45 PM While we are on the subject:
It's 2:30pm here and I've yet to hear from Todd. Sunday he said he would call today & still no ring. He always calls 1st thing in the morning on the days he says he's going to call.
Something's not right & I'm beginning to get worried :(
I know he knows something. I just can't for the life of me figure out why he hasn't called.
Carla
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-16-2002, 01:31 PM WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!
Just spoke with Todd! Freakin finally, I must say!
He did go to TEAM and the recommendation was 4-5 months 1/2way house. The paperwork was submitted. He said he didn't want to waste the 15min phone call w/ the details so he would explain everything at visitation.
Speaking of which...
I was approved for visitation!! He thinks I'm coming up Satuday morning, but I made child care arrangements w/ my sister so I can surprise him TOMORROW morning!!! I will get to see him Friday, Saturday AND Sunday!
I've been doing sooooooo much crying lately but it has been a VERRRRRRY long time that I've cried happy tears!
Thank you jdswifey & David for letting me freak out through PMs.
I am soooo elated right now...I get to kiss my baby!
soraya 05-16-2002, 01:35 PM ow girl, you can't believe how happy your post makes me!!! but you know this means you will have to tell us about your visits huh? ;)
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-16-2002, 01:39 PM Hi soraya,

soraya 05-16-2002, 01:43 PM ow yes pictures! pictures! *jumping up and down of exitement*

Can't wait to hear all about that visit!!!
Fed-X 05-16-2002, 04:26 PM Same goes for me! Glad it all is turning out right! It's such a surprise when it does, because so often it does not.
Send him our regards at visitation! And you better share the pictures with us when you get them.. :)
David
soraya 05-17-2002, 02:16 AM yeah, we're getting really addicted to pictures here! :D
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-19-2002, 08:28 PM Hi ya'll! I posted my visitation story under Visitation. I'll have pics in a couple of weeks.
He's going to be released to 1/2 way between 10/11/02 & 11/11/02.
Todd will be putting in a cop-out so that I can transport him to the 1/2 way house from the FCI when he's released.
sherri13 05-21-2002, 09:31 AM CONGRATS GIRL! NOT LONG AT ALL! BUT I KNOW IT WILL SEEM LIKE A VERY LONG 5-6 MONTHS TO YOU. BUT JUST THINK OF THE PAYOFF.......
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-21-2002, 10:04 AM It's not long at all...we got the wedding in July to look forward to! Then before we know it, 3 months is real quick.
After all, can you believe in 4 months it will be the (unfortunate) 1 yr mark for 9/11?
The year has gone by fast! Hope it keeps on cruising!
I better start Christmas shopping! LOL
soraya 05-22-2002, 02:55 AM lol indeed. the older I get the faster the years seem to pass. I know when i was at school and we had 2 months of summer break, those months never seemed to end. Now I'm still amazed it's almost June...celebrating New Year feels like it was only a week ago...
CARLAxoxoxTODD 05-22-2002, 05:04 AM The girls & I have a saying if the day, week or month goes by fast...
"It's a (day, week, month) closer to Todd"
That's one of our favorite sayings around here next to "Man, I wish Todd was here!" That's usually said after something breaks or stops working & needs to be fixed. :)
CREAMYALMONDZ 05-22-2002, 08:51 AM Yeah I think that's how it is here in VA, if they have no where to go then they go to the halfway house.
