:help: Hello Everyone.
I am a new member, having just registered within the past 24 hrs.
My loved one was at Folsom Represa but he is now at DVI-Tracy, and I have not received mail from him since February 14, 2005.
It has always been difficult for me to receive letters from him.
Sometimes while he was at Folsom Represa, it took up to 9 months to receive a letter and vice versa.
I have read in this forum, that if there is someone in the prison system, that wants to be cruel, that they can prevent an inmate's sending or receiving of mail.

I believe he was supposed to go before the board for a hearing to try to be released or paroled in March.

I phoned "inmate locator" today and learned that he is at DVI-Tracy, CA since March and I am also told that right now DVI is on lock-down.

Does anyone know: Is there any routine reason why they would send him to Tracy or could he have requested to be transferred there thinking that it would be a step in the right direction to getting paroled or released?

I am also told today that while he is at Tracy, I must phone to make an appointment to visit him --- does anyone know why I must have an appointment?

Does anyone know: Can he phone me collect from Tracy?

I am on the east coast now, and flying out west in a few days and I want to visit him ASAP, since the last time I saw him was in early December when he was at Folsom Represa.

Anyone have any thoughts or comments?
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a loved one at Tracy.

Grateful Regards,

My husband is in DVI and there mail comes to me pretty quick. Like He'll send it and i'll get it like the most 4 days later. But when i send him letters it takes about 1 1/2 weeks. I know that if your in lock-down or in reception not in main line you'll have visits behind glass. But other then that you can have regular visits. Also the visits behind glass only last 1 hour. Regular visits are from 8:30am-3:30 Monday thru Friday. Not sure why your man got transfered, could be lots of reasons. And they can make collect calls, but if he's not in main line then he won't be able to. Sorry i couldn't be more help but if you need the number to Tracy here it is 1-800-374-8474 Hope this helps.

unless there is a holiday on a Monday there is visits on those days. You just have to check the holiday. Like this coming Labor day will have visits on Monday.
