Thanks for asking--my pal is still at Newton unless he left on the bus Monday. He is working on an appeal and doing well. He wants to stay at Newton as long as he can. They seem to send back those that have gotten into trouble and he's a mellow guy who manages to avoid it.

I have a new penpal in AZ who is a Native American woman, the aunt of my youngest pal. I'm enjoying getting to know her.

Chintath..I hope he can stay there until he gets close to his release date!

It seems that the ones who are in the private facilities like where they are and prefer to be there instead of going back to AZ, unless of course they have family close by that visited often.

Thats so nice of you another pen-pal, your doing a wonderful thing and I commend you for that!

Hello Arizona members!! :) Hope everyone is doing well. I got some good news today-I passed all of my finals/classes!! Yippee!! :yay: :dance: One of my finals had a very low class average and hardly anyone thought they passed, but our grades were posted today and I passed! :D Now I am off for a week before I start fall semester. :clap: Of course I'm so crazy-instead of taking some time off I picked up extra shifts at work, so I'll be spending my break working. :rolleyes:

My visit was wonderful except for the hassle of getting into visitation. I enjoyed my visit with my son. It always warms my heart to spend time with him.

Why is my list of messages on PTO in the reverse order it is normally in?

Awww...thanks Mel, you had me laughing too! :D Yeah, my baby recovered fine. :) I should clarify that I fed them their dog food for dinner, I just gave them a little bit of my fettucine alfredo, too. :o Glad to hear Sav is doing better. :)

It will give you a code (use the 3rd code) that you will paste into your signature here. To do that, just go to 'user cp' up at the top of the page, edit signature, and then paste your code into your signature and save. If you have any more questions, let me know. Hope this helps! :)

I can't believe it's almost the end of August..this month flew by!!!

So what's been going on as of late...are all the kiddos back in school? Sav started yesterday and Zac last week.....it's quiet during the day.....but it's a nice break.

Im glad to see that other peoples images in their siggies are gone too, i thought something was wrong with only mine for a second there! :eek:

Mel, the district I work for started school 4 weeks ago! but the district I live in just started 2 weeks ago. funny how they are all different. What grades are your kids in? I teach in a class thats preschool in the morning and kindergarten in the afternoon. Its the best! :)

Hey AZ people...my loved one is in FCI Phoenix but I cant find any regulars in the federal forum who have loved ones there so i decided to come here. I have my first visit this weekend!!!

The facility is on 45th Ave...I have never been to Phoenix and yes I get to visit both days, Sat and Sun!!! Excited and nervous...I have to wear pants and a shirt with sleeve and tennis shoes and it is going to be 108 there tomorrow...ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

It is definetely hot in the valley,but it actually hasn't been too bad lately. Do they make you wear pants there? At the state prisons, you can wear capris or skirts or shorts, as long as they go to your knees. Maybe you could wear one of those so you're not so hot! :) That's awesome that you get to visit both days-hope you 2 have a wonderful weekend. ;)

Yes I could wear that but I just bought two new pairs of jeans so I want to wear them!!! Just got to find a cute shirt to wear!!!

Im flying in tomorrow and I am not even packed. I am staying with 2 of my friends and they keep telling me how the mall closes at 10 in Phoenix and I need to stop stressing...ahhhhh!!!!

Im doing fine, except for the way Arizona is treating the inmates and the co's. The inmates feel that the co's are no better treated then thay are.

Funny you should say that. I was just noticing that my AZ penpals haven't said anything derogatory about the COs for a long time. The penpals in other states sure give me an earful even though their prisons seem like a country club compared to AZ.
