View Full Version : Need infor on Mule Creek Prison Tony'sBabe 08-10-2005, 01:31 PM My honey just moved to MCSP, can anyone fill me in on the visiting, mail, etc. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Diane93635 08-10-2005, 02:29 PM My man is at Mule Creek. All in all it's not too bad. Visiting is always very busy but the CO's are nice. My guy tells me they are changing the visiting hours to 9 am to 3 pm for both Saturdays and Sundays... Visitor dress code is normal...not real strict. Just the usual no underwire bras, no blue jeans or light blue shirts similar to the prisoners, no green or kahki like the co's etc. As for the mail room...well that varys...could take your mail anywhere from 5 days to 3 weeks! Sometimes they get backed up...my man says that the mail room is volunteer senior citizens so we don't complain....much anyways...LOL! j/k It's pretty kick back in there...not a lot of drama or lockdowns. Hope this helps...Diane... Tony'sBabe 08-10-2005, 02:39 PM Thank You!! I still want to cry, I am in Hanford, between Bakersfield and Fresno. I was really hoping for somewhere a little closer. Do the visits last the whole time or are they terminated for over crowding? Do you have to get there early and wait in line or how does that work? Thanks again. . . Cynthia denverswife 08-10-2005, 05:21 PM Visits are oftern terminated for overcrowding. First in-first out, unless you come from more than 250 miles away. Then you can get one non-termination visit per month, although I've seen them give more. There are places closer, but no where that your man can do easier time. Almost no lockdowns, very few problems, and great family visiting, if you qualify. I don't go to regular visiting, since we got family visits, but there are lots of others who do...I'm sure they'll be along. Diane93635 08-11-2005, 03:35 AM I'm from Los Banos...so it's about a 2 hour drive each way...not bad. It's worth it for him to be as safe as prison could possibly be here in Cali... As for visiting...yes, like Denvers wife was saying...visits do get terminated when it's too full to make room for more visits...if you 250 miles away or more you just tell them that and I believe you won't get terminated. And yes, the lines start early on visiting day...I've been there 2 hours early or late in the day and everything in between...always a wait. The less of a wait was going a little later believe it or not...but it changes from visit to visit. What yard is your man on? Maybe we will see each other at visiting...:D Tony'sBabe 08-11-2005, 02:49 PM I called this morning and they said C. . . .he hasn't been to committee yet so I am not sure if this is a permanent placement. I appreciate the support, he was in Wasco for 9 months and I was comfortable there. This is my first experience so I am a little lost. I will go for the first time on the 20th. Do you take the 99? I am in Hanford. . .so that seems the best way for me to go. Thanks again. Cynthia worried momma 08-11-2005, 05:56 PM omg he fianally got moved oh boy no more dirty glass smooches lol i am so happy for you tell tony I said whats up man i am excited for you guys have lots of fun Tony'sBabe 08-11-2005, 06:07 PM Thanks my friend. I can't stop crying though, it is much farther than I expected. I know God has a purpose but I am in a state of shock. Can anyone tell me what the visiting room is like, sitting side by side, across from each other, strict about the hugging and kissing, etc? Thanks for any help. denverswife 08-11-2005, 07:00 PM Side by side is ok, pretty casual about contact, if you don't abuse it. You can sit with his arm around you. Keep your hands up though! Assigned seating, I've never seen two inmates at the same table, but I know it can happen. Outside seating is even more casual, but remember the tower guard can see you in the patio!! But photo ducats from the officer in the foyer, before you go into the locked visiting room. $2 each. Tony'sBabe 08-12-2005, 09:05 AM Thanks for the information. I am so excited to hug and kiss him. It has been 10 months since we have talked without glass and a phone between us so I am also VERY nervous. Does anyone take the 99? If so what are the landmarks that will let me know I am almost there? Is there a better time to arrive? Is there any prison specific etiquette I should know about (when to get food, how much, etc.)? PTO has been a life saver for me. I had never been through anything like this and the information I have gained from this site is invaluable. I truly thank all the ladies who come on to help those of us going through moments of insanity. Cynthia worried momma 08-12-2005, 11:19 AM you will be ok you are so excited i no how you feel remember how i was and i called you crying my eyes out if you need to vent i'm here for you girl you and tony are so cute togather I no you will call me and let me no your wedding date as soon as you no it be strong and remember who loves ya girl sherry Tony'sBabe 08-12-2005, 01:59 PM Lol, I may be calling sooner than you think :rolleyes:. How are the puppies? You know it is going to be arough weekend, hopefully they will have everything approved for next weekend. Does anyone know if they can write/mail during orientation? He has rarely ever missed a day and I didn't get mail today. :(:( Thanks Ladies. . . . . Diane93635 08-12-2005, 03:01 PM They aren't too strict with hugging and kissing...but that depends on the CO... I always sit right next to my man with my hand on his leg or holding his hand. We of coarse kiss and hug in the beginning of the visit and the end like your allowed to...but we always get more kisses and a few extra squeezes here and there. They usually don't trip unless the people are constantly rubbing on each other...LMAO! No, I don't take 99...I take I-5 most of the way...but from where you are 99 is the best. Drive safe and enjoy your visit...finally getting to hug and kiss and actually touch each other...I'm so happy for you... |
