I got a letter from my boyfriend dated August 1. He says they are still on lockdown. He is in B yard.

Does any of the Ironwood goers know if any of the other yards are on lockdown? Also, are they having issues with the mail, because i havent heard from my husband since last month and im extremely worried!

vitaI don't know about other yards being on lockdown. Maybe you can try calling the prison. About the mail, my boyfriends letters have been getting to me in about 3 to 4 days. Maybe someone else has more information.

The way the marraige thing works is, of course your man has to send you the marriage package and it comes with directions as far as what you need to do with the marriage pamphlet. As far as the marriage day is concerned, it "Normally" takes 3 months for them to do whatever it is that they do with the package; then after that you have 90 days to get married. I believe one of the days is a Friday. Okay, as far as spending a few minutes together before and after. The way that works is, depending on who goes first you can spend time with him. If your married first, then nope. you say the "I Do's" kiss and bye bye. As for the wedding date, it really depends on you, if you complete the marriage package and nothings missing then you should have a problem, but if something is incomplete then they will send it right back and keep sending it back until it meets there requirements.

Well I haven't exactly HEARD from the boyfriend :( but i talked to my girl and her man is also in C and she has been able to talk to him... BUT i think the mail is wayyy backed up... I received a letter08-10-05 that he was responding to my letter dates 07-31-05 so I guess about 10 days behind... and now I havent heard from him since then... BUT then again thats a whole different other drama... :( BUT ladies... we will soon find out in about 3 hrs who is and who is not on lockdown when checkin the system... GOOD luck and anyone who is going there this weekend please have a safe drive and a wonderful visit :thumbsup:

I spoke to Ironwood on Sunday and they are "short staffed" so that messes up their phone calls, mail and puts them on lock down. My husband is on D yard, I spoke to him last week a couple of times and he told me the same thing.

I can agree with KingMikeGirl, they are always short staffed and that does mess up everything mail, phonecalls including the visits.. When they are short staffed it takes my husband over an hour to come out. I myself, havent heard from my sweetie in a long while, so crossing my fingers and praying about it, that i will get mail next week.. Im so happy that we have an Ironwood thread going..

Last night a reliable source told me that the hispanics were coming up today on B-yard. :thumbsup:

I posted my woes yesterday on Mattz original post--what a difference a day makes. My baby's mom called me this morning and said guess who I just got through talking to--well of course I was beaming and anxious--she said my baby was calling everybody in the family to try and get this message to me.
My visits are back on!!!!!!!!:D :dance: :yay: Uh huh--that's right--well you know where I'm gonna be bright and early Saturday morning. They better not go on lockdown or anything that will cause my first time seeing my baby (since April) to be postponed or behind the glass.

Don't want to alarm anybody but I found out that yesterday there was a stabbing on A yard--so ISP had a yard recall in the afternoon--don't know what happened or who it affected yet or the seriousness of the incident. Will post more if I find out anything else. But probably won't be until tomorrow--760-921-3000 might give more info if there is another l/d. I don't like to worry anybody :( and sometimes worry about posting stuff like this--but it's better to know that not know.

Thanks for starting this thread!!! Hello Ironwood Ladys and Chuckawalla Ladys! I always hear about B Yard, sometimes A & C but never D yard. Is there anyone else out there that has a loved one in D yard? And is there anyone who would like to carpool share gas maybe a motel? That is at either of the prisons, since they are just neighbors? If so, please P.M. me, I don't have a car but am willing to pay for half of the expenses (how gas prices are so very ridiculous). I am in the San Diego area. My Husband told me they are short staffed so that messes up the phone's. So, it is nothing they can really do about it. I wish I could work there in a way...I would take care of business, for us loved one's on the outside looking in!!! But, I wish for alot of things.

I called the vistors line and as of 2 pm (final update) Sat. 8/27/05, all yards still have regular contact visits for Sunday 8/28/05. I hope it stays that way so I can visit my son tomorrow. Hope you all have wonderful visits.

Ad Seg is the HOLE and is located on A yard. People tried to make an appointment this morning and were told there was an incident between the Whites and Mexican's so they were not allowing BEHIND GLASS VISITS the Holiday Weekend.

How can the Whites and Mexican's get into it while in ad seg?

They weren't in Ad Seg when it happened, they were put in Ad Seg because of it. I am very disappointed because I went out there and didn't get to visit my son, because he was part of the group that was moved until the investigation is over.

I use a Cashier Check from Bank Of America! I send a 100 and my son gets 55 out of it. Make it out in his name and put his CDC number on it! Hope this Helps! I always send it by it's self in an envelope, because it will get on his books quicker than if you send it with a letter or other material.

Well, let's see to me Sundays seem more crowded at least on B yard visiting. I live in Blythe so I leave between 7:30 and 8:00. Usually I get into B yard visiting about 9:00-9:30, however a few times it's been later. Obviously getting here sooner gets you in quicker. Since I don't wait in the car line maybe one of the other ladies could tell you when they let them in, but I think it's 8:00. They usually start calling numbers at 8:30 but the past few weekends they started at 9:00.

Last weekend I took the Friends Outside van (saving on gas) from the greyhound station in Blythe and the driver already had the tickets so when she dropped us off we went right in--no waiting. The van is free, but a dollar or two is a nice donation. The downside is that you have to leave visiting at 2:00 because the van leaves the prison to go back to the greyhound station at 2:40. Hope this helps a little and hope you get to see your honey this weekend.:)

I'm sorry--let me explain a little better--:o. If you are in the car line the co will give you a ticket with a number on it (The car line starts forming very early in the morning--some people get there at 3:00am and just park there until they are allowed in). At 8:00 they let the cars in. You will pass CVSP (Chucky's house) then you will get to Ironwood. You'll park then go to visitor processing with your ticket that you will fill out. Then you will wait for your number to be called. they call them out in intervals of 25. So 1 through 25 will be called first, etc. Don't worry anyone there will be more than happy to help you out. If you get there after the cars have went in, you just drive to Ironwood and park and get your ticket at processing, fill it out and wait to be called.

As far as the directions, I would just go 10. Hope this explains it a little better, Good luck!

Oh the tables are pre school size, about 2 feet from the ground. As far as sneaking kisses well that depends--me and my baby get a few small pecks here and there but they are always watching us. I sometimes see other couples get a little more romantic, but we always seem to get warnings:rolleyes:.

My man has not received a letter that I sent to him on Aug 24th!!!:mad: But what happened (about a month ago) was that someone who worked in the mailroom was busted for bringing in drugs so now the mailroom is short staffed again.

Thats so typical of I.S.P to be understaffed AGAIN! for some reason they are always understaffed, and cant understand why. Last week i received one letter dated August 30th and just got it last Weds.However, that monday i received one that was dated September 8th. GO FIGURE! I do agree though raynard that i also date and put the amount of pages that are in the letter so just incase one inconciderate person whos to lazy to collect the mail and loses a page least i know my honeybunny will know that theres a page missing..
Kali~ as far as the tank top thing goes it cant show any skin near the pitt or your bra or they will make your butt turn around and change. i dont know what a layered top is, but if it has fringes on it or dangly things they wont allow it. But i do know is that if you have a tank top with those tops that look like madonna's old style shirt they will do that though. (sorry for improvs~~the one that is like cut at the neck type of deal) sorry does this make any sense????? if not sorry if so coocooacho for me!!

A neighbor once brought me a letter from my baby, that was mis-delivered. So did someone else get my other mail and trashed it or did it even make it this far?:confused: Who knows? I mailed out a letter to him on Aug 24th that he still has not received--and I just mailed another letter last Friday so we shall see. This is the first time that he has not received one of my letters. Normally mail goes out from ISP Mon, Wed, and Fri and takes two days to get to me. Mine usually takes 5 to 7 days to get to him.

I just got home and of course went straight to this darn computer to see if i have any messages and to check PTO that i do ritually,:thumbsup: and low and behold i cant believe how prisons are being runned theses days. I ask,where is the common courteous and the respect that one is supposed to deserve. Are we not human beings? I am appalled:angry: that people including myself am having so much trouble with the mail system especially from there end. I yet to receive anything from my HunnyBunny and its not like him unless he doesnt have writing material. However, thats not the case in this matter. anyways, i agree raynard on what you had to say about the darn postal service on both ends. I think its more on there end then our end personally. 2 weeks ago, my neighbor whos this little ol lady from pasadena (sweet lady though) rings my bell and saids the mail man delievered this in my box, :eek: of course i was jumping with JuicesFruit, :D but the thought of someone knowing my HunnyBunny was incarserated was somewhat shameful, because I think its know ones business what i get in the mail, :thumbsup: rather it be a letter from him or a bank statement. I think that anyone who deals with the mail should be more careful about putting the mail in the proper box as well as the prison sending them out like there supposed to instead of putting them on the shelf waiting to collect dust. Plus they put this HUGE BUTT LOOKING STAMP ON IT THAT SAIDS isp correspondence, like we dont know where its coming from with the cdc number on top! Hey Juices-- the mail thing is frustrating I know :mad: . And I feel the same way when my mail is delivered by a neighbor especially in this small town:rolleyes:, "inmate correspondence" stamped all over the place. I wanted to add that anytime I enclose anything in my man's letters, I always put enclosures on the bottom of my letter and specify what and how many pages it is so he knows that he's getting everything. (Just like in a business letter).

Has anyone been having problems with incoming mail or outgoing mail to your loved ones? Such as: taking forever to receive something or for them to receive something? I myself normally get something with in 3 days 4 is pushing it!

BabyPokie, I totally agree with you about the way they treat our loved ones in there. They think just because they are in prison gives the CO's the right treat them anyway they like. Well, im sorry they dont! I understand they landed there butts in there for not being an angel, but we are all human. With out us (people) on the outside working hard and paying taxes their butts wouldnt have a job! must say they take an arm, leg and my 49th child in taxes! anyways, when your there they treat you just like an inmate as well. They stare at you, and they pull your loved ones to the side just because you sneezed the wrong way. Oh come on, i can understand if you were *&^%$#@ :eek: right there infront of everyone,then i can see, but anything else give me a break. As far as complaining, honestly no there isnt. Kaligirl you are funny.:D I was just talking to my daughter (in Sac) and we were laughing about how you go in trying to look all cute but after waiting in the heat and changing a couple of times (if they make you) which requires you to walk to your car then to the trailer then back to processing (again in the heat)--of course if you've pulled things over your head then you have "things pulled over your head" hair!:eek: Anyway,

lol raynard coming in robe, rollers etc. lol thats what my hunnybunny saids i can care less what you come in as long as you come.. thats true kali, after a while dressing and undressing youll soon get tired of it.. 5 pictures only cant be more then 4x8... if your on medication only the amount your supposed to take while your there..the change bag is either a ziplock baggie or a clear bag.. girl thank you for sharing about your son--I'm sorry he's going through this as well as you--He is lucky to have you by his side!!:) And yes, I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. This is our place to vent:blah: , chit chat, cry:cry: , but most of all support one another:grouphug: .

You know it's not just in visitng--I live in this town and I see the same people who work out at the prison at the supermarket, post office, etc. I have been very involved in the community with the kids, homeless shelter, and helped to open a museum in this town. But when people see me in visiting it's like what:eek:? I've learned that if being in love with the man who speaks to my heart:love: and makes me feel like I can do anything and loves me for who I am (and I'm a piece of work ladies;)) negates who I am as a wonderful person in the eyes of others, then screw them.
But also to be fair, there are a few people who treat me with respect and that's all I ask for. Think what you want of me, just treat me and my man with respect. Anyway, just wanted to share a little.

I'm really happy:D to hear you had a great visit. I was wondering if you were in that crowd of visitors :). I had a great visit Saturday :thumbsup:, and talked to my honey Saturday night on the phone but, well you already know what happened Sunday and he hasn't called me yet so I might try and call later to see what the status is on B yard.
I don't know if next weekend I'll be going back to B or I'll be finding myself a new visiting home on D yard. It is crazy how everybody eats. One day my baby said, "dang, does everybody come to visiting just to eat?" I don't know what he's talking about--he like cleans out the candy machine. Anyway, the guys enjoy eating stuff they don't get to eat alot of on the yard and the visitors--well, if you came up I-10 then you know there isn't any eat joints past Indio (about 100 miles). Then while waiting in processing and all, by that time everybody is ready to grubb! Everytime I go (during regular program) the machines always run out of food.
Okay ladies, hope your weekend was great, and the week goes well for all of us. As always--lots of calls, mail and of course awaiting the weekend for the visits.

the food machines, well heres the deal there, they refill the machines when they suite fit to do so. they do refill them 1 once on saturdays and 2xs on sunday. If you want good or somewhat decent food go in the morning, but towards the midmorning/ afternoon you just get the left over pickings.

No call tonight :( and I didn't call the prison to find out the status of B yard because I got busy.:rolleyes: Tomorrow is classification for my baby so after I find out something, then I will feel better. Just hoping the move is only to D yard. The way things are now with him just up the road, is a little less inexpensive. On gas and phone calls. Now once I win the lottery and become a millionaire :haha: then I'll move to the beach and have my chauffer take me to the prison and calls well who cares I will be able to afford them no matter where I'm at. Of course if I'm a millionare I will be able to afford the best lawyer money can buy and get my baby home to me where he belongs! Let me wake up and go get my milkshake.

Hey Alma--girl where have you been? Good to see you. Well as you might already know, a fight broke out in the gym on Sunday. From where I was standing there were quite a few quys that were stripped out. Actually there were two fights because after the first fight they were going to resume visiting. However I may have been the only one who noticed it, but after they start calling numbers again--a whole of bunch of officers ran back into the gym. No alarm went off, but obviously another fight broke out because they stopped processing visitors again and then an hour later B yard visits were terminated. I really thought I was going to get a call tonight, but since I didn't I could only assume they are still down (lockdown meetings are usually on Tuesdays), so we might know more then. Of course I also have classes on Monday nights and my baby knows this--so maybe he didn't call cause he figured I wouldn't be here. Anyway, I suspect I'm rambling again. But I will call tomorrow and post what I find out.
Juices--I didn't get a milkshake--as I was driving to go get one, I saw the donut shop and said to myself--"self, go get a donut." So I got two. :shake: Now I have to do a gizillion sit ups--but I'll do them tomorrow:haha:.

Good Morning Kali--I'm always talking to people in visitng processing that's how I met Mattz (by the way Mattz where are you and how is your honey doing?). A lot of people see me a lot because I go every weekend and they start talking to me too. I always ask people do you go to PTO? Anyway, don't work too hard today--try and catch a nap :D. Thank you Yvette--yeah I was there on Sunday, I was sitting in the gazeebo watching the events unfold on B yard. I had a white flower (island style) over my left ear. I will go this weekend whether he's on B or D--still waiting to hear something. He's closed custody so even if the yard is up right now, he's on lockdown until count clears so maybe I'll hear something in an hour or so. Anxiously waiting...

Well i guess i didnt see you i seen people in the gazebo but really didnt pay much attention, i was just looking around. I was mostly inide sitting in the corner by myself all like sardines when they made everyone come inside cause of the bees!!! but hen they kicked everyone outisde, and i was sitting on those little benches on the side of the other building, there was somehow a little good breeze there. You can send 20 stamped envelopes or stamps with envelopes which ever you prefer and 50 sheets of paper through the mail.
no housing that means he hasnt been assigned to a yard yet.

It was nice :) talking to her since I haven't spoken to her son since Saturday.:( No news today--I called his counselor and got his voice mail,:rolleyes: I think he had already left for the day. As for trying to get an update on B yard--got the run around.:argh: I have an inside source, but my source in on vacation so I have to go through the rigamaro (sp) of being transferred and hearing the phone ring and ring and ring. So I'm going to assume they are still on l/d.
I get paranoid:hmm: sometimes and today I thought that my phone had a block on it.:shrug: I have read a few posts where that happens and they don't know until someone tells them. I have no reason for that to happen, because my bill is caught up--but I have learned that anything is possible. But she (mother) said she hasn't received a call from him and if he tried to call and couldn't reach me for any reason she would be the first to know about it. I'm just wondering what happened at classification. I'll call his counselor first thing in the am and hopefully I will be able to reach him and find out something. (You know if nothing else ladies, I really think we learn patience in these types of situations.)

I got a letter from my baby today--he wrote it Sunday so it must have went out Monday. It was stamped by the post office yesterday. He still has not received the letter I sent him Aug 24th, but received the one that I sent to him Sept 16th--he got it Sept 23rd. Anyway according to him, at least what he can make out is that the "blacks and browns" are down. I'm assuming he means hispanics--unless browns are to include others (native americans, samoans, asians, etc) also. Anyway, he says that he thinks they will be down a long time. No phone call yet so I'm assuming he's still on B yard. Well how is everybody doing tonight?

I hope this will reach you in good health and doing well. How am I doing tonight, im okay, just sleepy and tired thats all. Other then I had cheese a while ago, and i was doing the dance in the car! Ladies, i ask myself this, i cant have milky products but yet, i still have them! why, i have them knowing i get sick, is beyond me. Go figure. My friends father is doing not so good! hes able to talk, however hes doing the whole oxygen thing. They said that he will most likely use the o2 for the rest of his life, because hes not giving enough o2 to the brain. ( o2 is oxygen) Then, ding bat me, forgot to tell him that there was a fire in moorepark/ chatsworth and me and him were right in the middle of it NO BRAINNER me something. On the way back it was fine, but another fire broke out near me, but it was someones car, not the forrest thing. WOW they changed the rules on paper and envelopes now. I knew you could sent stamps by the 100's if they were professionally sent from the post office its self. wow im really out of date here. Thanks for the 411 yvette. He already received mail i sent him on Sept 9th and and the 15th i think. Im not sure, but ill ask him saturday if he received my letters from the 16th. They don't do on the spot visit approvals anymore so she would have to wait--she could wait at the Descanso (friends outside) trailer. they have couches, a TV, a playroom for the kids, food. It's on the other side of the parking lot--you will see it when you come in or just ask where's Friends Outside.

You may not see me there this weekend--my appt isn't until 10:30 Sat--But I might take the van in so i don't have to burn my gas--then I'll just sit around and wait for my appointment. the van gets there about 9:00. It's the Friends Outside Van that picks up from the greyhound station in Blythe and goes to the Prison, then takes the visitors back to Blythe at 2:20 in the afternoon.

Hi, everyone, i just got a phone call today from ironwood. I thought it was my boyfriend but it was one of his friends. My man is in b yard and theyre still on lockdown. He said that they might be off Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully it will be soon. It was funny because his friend had a whole page of questions to ask me. He was reading each question and writing and he said he was going to try and remember everything.At the end he read i love you and i miss you. Even though I didn't get to talk to him, at least I know he's ok.

hi you all i got the best thing today a letter from my son he said that he back and he can wait to see us. pray that i get to go visit this week-end. even if i got to rent a car i am going up to ironwood so ladyies i will see you there at the pole.
