Has anyone heard any information on the incident that occured at Florence??

Joey was unable to call for the past three days, because he said they were on lockdown. I dont know if it was just the East Unit, or the whole Florence Prison. I didnt get to talk to him, but his Mother did, and she didnt give me too much information. But I guess that they were on lockdown because an inmate had killed another inmate.
This was within the past 2 or 3 days.
I just wondered if anyone had any more information on what happened.
I will know the whole story after visits on Sunday......

Hi, I haven't heard anything about that, but did you call to double-check that they are still having visits since they've been locked down? I would, just to be on the safe side. Good luck. :)

I heard that there was an incident involving different races. it happened on the 4th I think it was... they are keeping it quiet too.. it was in east unit that I heard it occured in
lets hope that all is calm and safe again for all in that unit

Hi you all, sorry to take so long to come here. Yes there was a inmate that got stab at East unit and died. Another inmate got stab at CB-6 on the same week. Florence was on lock down for 3 days. There is more upriseing going on at Florence, The reason is we dont know. Tucson is also having troubles as Lewis is also having troubles. We were told by a inmate that Florence is to go off on Sunday after visitation or on monday. Dont know what is going to take place or why.

Yep, we are having problems in Tucson too. A stabbing a week ago, 13 shanks found 3 weeks ago, and rumors of rumblings.

I have a friend at Florence and in a letter I got this past week he sounded really worried. He told me that you could feel the tension rising and that there was talk about "doing a co" - that it was time to let them know who really runs the place. (This is NOT how he feels, he was just relaying what he has been hearing.) The letter kind of scared me so I called the prison to report it but they didn't seem that concerned and downplayed it. But at least I can sleep a little better knowing that I told someone about it.

Is Florence a private prison or state? If private, is it run by CCA?

It's a state prison.

I didn't get my usual weekly letter from my pal there in Florence this week. He would tell me what's happening. Now I'm starting to worry. I hope it's because he's devoting his time to his new girlfriend and tired from his new job.

Has anyone heard anything further about trouble at Lewis? My man did not call me this past weekend and that NEVER happens unless something happened to prevent it. Any one know anything?

I am Limey, I have to confess that I was hoping you or TomT would have seen that post, so I am glad that you did. I don't want anyone, inmate or CO, to get hurt. This was at the Central unit. I am glad nothing has occurred and I want you to know I appreciate all you do to help keep the peace.
